Python Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 The Harrier is in almost airworthy condition, how it must feel to be rich!! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-28459093 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
joey45 Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Neither can be flowen by civilians in the UK. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. dumgrunt Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 (edited) its a bit unusual for the poms to sell their decomissioned gear isnt it? only tornado to be sold to the public, harrier took part in the Falklands... they will go for a pretty penny... parts for the tornado would be rare as rocking horse shit, would be a fun exercise to get it airworthy. could only dream that they get donated to Duxford? Richard Branson likes things that go zoom zoom right? Edited July 24, 2014 by dumgrunt [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Python Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 The Harrier sold for £105,800. Bit of a bargain I'd say given that most super cars cost more than that these days. The Tornado sold for £36,800. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/10994336/Harrier-jump-jet-sold-to-private-collector-in-the-UK.html [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
NeilWillis Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Bargains, but I am sure the upkeep will add a few noughts!
