msalama Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Ahem... The aircraft seems to want to pirouette on the runway, going every which way but straight. Also, the wheel brakes seem to lock automatically because I have to always press them again before another (botched) takeoff attempt (gotta recheck my settings). Also found out that attempting a takeoff with full airbrake is a bad idea  plus that in the event of actually succeeding in lifting off the ground the AC soon rolls to left and makes me a dead rookie... And NO, of course I didn't read the manual. No self-appointed armchair expert ever does  PS. I'm not reporting AC bugs here, just ones found between the chair and the keyboard  The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

msalama Posted July 25, 2014 Author Posted July 25, 2014 Thanks Sith. Note to self: when buying new AC, do check if the brake axii need inverting BEFORE attempting takeoff. The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
Brego Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Regarding the Take off / Landing video... erm... im almost embarrsed to ask this. What does "Kias" mean? im really having a hard time landing. I can Land an A-10, Blackshark and 8.3 times out of 10 the Huey. I normally land by the edge of my seat by guessing, and not using my dials in the correct manner. This is a failure on my part and its something im learning to do. However, i just cant get a feel for this plane for landing so im trying to use the video, but i cant relate these Kias speed numbers to anything i can see in the plane. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Cheers.

msalama Posted July 25, 2014 Author Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) Ahem... Day 1, T > 0. Brakes axis fixed, 2 circuits completed plus a bunch of unneeded Batumi airport buildings shot to crap. The bird still wants to pirouette on the runway every chance she gets... but that, as far as I can diagnose, is just another case of PEBCAK. The manual still uncracked though because the pros just don't do that  PS. Cichlidfan, as an aside just gotta love your avatar, the furry fellow's fast asleep it seems :) Edited July 25, 2014 by msalama The DCS Mi-8MTV2.
