Contrail offset to the left

When flying at high altitude and the contrail starts to emit, it seems that it is offset to the left.

Looking to the side I see the "smoke" blowing over the left wing, but nothing to see on the right side.

I just had the same experience. Just after going over 8km I started to create a white contrail.. It looks nothing like vapour, more like fuel leak and it starts right next to the left engine exhaust.

Had the same thing happen, at first I thought I had blown the engine ...
