Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 A simple exclamation of JOY! No pictures, no tracks attached, just these words from someone really having a great time with this superb DCS module. I am going through offline and online experiences that are turning me into a true fan of the Dora, and concentrating more & more in this sim. The "furball" mission that comes with the Dora is a true must play! Give it a try and make sure you use the right tactics for the Fw190. Never get slow / enter prolonged turning dogfight!!! Search for altitude / speed advantage - it can get it at your will provided you fly it correctly! Zoom & Boom techniques allowed me to score high in that furball mission, but it took me a lot of time to shoot down only 4 p51s Online, I have been at the DoW server a couple of times, but apart from some friends at the airfield, and after climbing to cruise, I never saw the enemy :-/, nor did it see me ... But that's the old problem with being able to find the others around in DCS :-) For all of those in the fence, go ahead and take the plunge!!! You wont regret! 1 Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...

rrohde Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 For me, I am so into the Dora that I managed to learn how to taxi, take-off and land rather well, and that got me also into the mode of learning to handle the P-51 (which, before the Dora, only tackled half-heartedly). All in all, the Dora is a joy to fly. Bearkiller72 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 My Luv! Since I read about the Dora as a kid, she never left me, somehow. When I bought the Mustang for DCS and learned how to handle it the "SIM" way, I was afraid if I could handle the Fw-190D as well... But experiencing this starting-up and take-off procedure, I have to ask, who on Earth took the time in creating something easy...? Sure it takes time, took me several visits to this fine site to find out. But once you're at it, she'll never leave you stranded or looking dumb. Quite a Lady she is, Dora! Gotta admire her and the skills the DCS team put into her virtual counterpart.
Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) Yes, tasting her is the way I feel every day... Specially now with that furball mission that comes with the Dora - whow!!!! Next will be online at the DoW Server :-) Sophisticaed, but at the same time extremely maneuverable, and you certainly can take her to the limits :-) Learned from ( bad ) experience that her super engine must, nonetheless,be respected :-/ Well, a true CHARM! Para_Bellum Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Yep, the Dora is an amazing aircraft. Open up the throttle, engage MW50, enter a climb and smile. :D
NeilWillis Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 A-dora... They missed the A out of the name, but yes, I must agree, every new addition to the fleet adds a whole new dimension to DCS World. I await the Mig-21Bis and BAE Hawk with equal relish.
