Hey gang- my first day with the x52 Pro has been extremely frustrating. If you could help me with a few questions I'd really appreciate it.

-Is there any way to utilize the mode dial (3 separate mappings) via the DCS in game mapper?

-If not and you build your profile in SST, how do you get DCS to work with that? I tried the right click over the tray icon and load the profile, still nothing in game. Do I need to set something in DCS options?

-Any time I try to map a shifted command in SST (pinkie+whatever) I get a .net runtime error and SST either crashes or doesnt allow me to map the command. Any ideas?

-How do I remove the clutch button mapping?

-Does anyone have any nice F-15 FC3 mappings?

For some of your questions:

- No, I don't think there is a way to use the mode dial as a mapping.

-To use your SST mapping with DCS World, after making it, saving it, and having the software closed, with the stick plugged in click on the lower right tray icon. A list of all you profiles should be there, just click the one you want and it will load up.

-The crashing is an odd error, I haven't gotten it. Maybe try re-installing the software, making sure it's up to date on the saitek website, or re-download the .net runtimes. One thing I did find in the past is that the software doesn't particularly like when the names of your macros are very long, so that might be a thing.

-There is a clutch button option in the control panel settings you can get to on the lower right icon.

Hope this helped.

I don't have an X52 Pro but from my experiences with the Logitech profiler, you can map your buttons in various modes to different keystrokes, and have those keystrokes mapped in DCS. When you switch modes, your buttons will now be the keystrokes mapped in the respective mode. All you need to map in DCS is whichever keystroke you want, or more conveniently, you can map the button to the keystroke already present in the DCS input config.

yes there is. in the SST software, delete all shiftstates except primary.

SST profiler has no effect on in-game settings. SST allows you to map joystick commands to keypresses so the game things you pushed the keyboard instead of the joystick.

dont use SST. just build a profile like i described (delete all shiftstates) and do your mapping in game.

right-click on icon in taskbar: one of the menu options opens a windows configuration-dialogue, on one tab of that dialog it is possible to set clutch to be a normal button.

Jesus, this Saitek thing is a mess. When I get into a game I have the controls work for about 5 seconds- then nothing, and I can't even use keyboard commands. Escape moves me out to the desktop and I have to hard close DCS.

I guess I can try reinstalling and installing (if I can figure out how. Can't seem to find an uninstaller).

Oh, and to top it off, after I close DCS the next time I run it I have to re-authorize my DCS modules.

Everything works fine without the x52 plugged in.

I'm sorry ti say but this is not a good advice. You could and should exploit the full potential of your joystick, and not using the sst means losing all the fun for what i think.

First assure that you have latest drivers and sst software.

Then remove any ingame preset of standard buttons of the joy: they can interfere with the sst settings.

Finally take sometime to understand the various functions of the sst.

All my profiles have shiftstates and multiple modes And everything works like a charm but for the mfd that only shows default information.

For my blackshark profile i have set the modes rotary like that it switches the master arm And preset combat settings on position Red. Turning back to mode 2 will switch systems to nav.

I have a partial wip f15 profile to share If you need. Now I'm writing from the mobile. Tomorrow i will upload.

If of interest i could think of making a guide for the sst software because it is not the first time i see the advice to use ingame settings.

Will update tomorrow. Stay tuned.
