Ok pulled the trigger and bought a new monitor... Some folks on this forum had recommended the LG 34" widescreen and after I checked it out.. One is on it's way now..

Question I have is that I am currently running a 770GTX with 4GIgs memory..

For the folks that currently own the LG 34UM95... Is this enough video card to run this beast well? (I am also running a second monitor with Helios for my Black Shark gauges.. 1920x1080)

Should I run the 2nd monitor from a secondary machine so all GPU HP is used for the new display?

The OTHER question I have is that there are actually 2 different versions of this monitor... LG 34UM95 and LG 34UM95-P? (I bought the -P)

What the heck is the difference between the one with the -P..?

I cannot for the life of me figure out what the difference is..

You will like the ultrawide monitor. I love mine.

That video card should run it fine. I don't use Helios so can't say how many resources it takes but I'd assume it would be fine.

Good question about the -P. I can't remember but I did have to look it up when I bought mine a while ago. Maybe someone else can refresh my memory about the difference. It may have had something to do with color....

Edit:

They are great for movies as well since the ultrawide is the same width as a movie theatres screen. Movies fit perfectly to the screen.

I was running a GTX 770 2GB in 4K, and I switched over to an R9 290 4GB. FPS is about the same (~30 at default maximums). DCS is completely CPU-limited right now. You shouldn't have problems, but I wouldn't expect 60 fps.

Also, I'm guessing -P is just a newer revision without any big differences. The description says it has 3 DisplayPort inputs, but I don't think so.

What's the update with the monitor?

I too am trying to decide on 3x24" displays or one 34um95.

Also I see some listings showing -p. No retailer has been able to confirm or deny they are different.

Thanks!

I had a play with one of these monitors at a friends place and was very impressed. The extra width really adds to the immersion. we ran one of the su25t training missions with everything maxed out and were averaging about 80 fps on his brand new computer.
