Just wondering how those of you who use the Trackir 3 pro or 4 pro like the system with lockon and if you feel it is worth the price for the imersion factor of the sim.

Thanks

oh, and is it a lot of hassle to get it to work right with the sim or is it plug and play?

Definately worth it ... its like the difference between flying keyboard and joystick ...

And it is not difficult to get working ... great piece of kit!

After using it for a bit, flying without it is a pain ... its that good!

I can confirm that I recently bought TIR 4. My best Buy for LockOn. Instalation is as easy as a USB Printer. I use the standard Profile for LockOn that comes on the CD and i have no need tweaking it, but u can of corse.

thanks for the replies. now im really excited about getting it. I guess ill get the 4 pro. Looks like with black shark, there will be use of all six axis of the trackir 4 system. I wonder if that is just for the copter or if it applies to all of the flyables. either way, i think it will be awesome.

I got a TIR 4pro last week and its the best thing I,ve bought for my PC ever. Installation and settup was a sinch. 6DoF is for the Ka-50 only but its still worth it as Vector works in all the other cockpits. Its great for finding targets on the groung and keeping track of the enemy in dogfights. No more padlocking for me, or lables for that matter.

I bought Track ir 4 PRO few weeks ago. It's very natural to use, I was afraid about using it but it's worth of every penny :D .

It runs very hot(but has been stable), only negative thing so far.

I've been using TIR3 pro (TIR4 pro wasn't out yet) and I absolutely hate it.

Just kidding :icon_supe

-It is worth it's weight in Gold. The price really does seem cheap once you see how more immersive/realistic it makes the whole experience. And, there is alot more potential with intergration in future games also, so LOMAC and BShark won't be the only thing it's good for.

Best comparison I can give, is how would you like to go back trying to fly the plane with a keyboard.... Cause that's how I'd feel w/o my TIR. I simply would not fly anymore, it adds that much.

Hope this helps someone's decision :horseback
