F l a n k e r Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 (edited) Mhmm, hope this wasn't already posted yet: I've done the take off tutorial, than, once in the air, I started to do some maneuvering that was not appreciated by my engine, which shut down himself. Since I had to eject, I directed the aircraft to a lawn and than I bailed out. Since I was close to the aircraft, I tought to come closer to it and this is what I found! My pilot still in the cockpit, missing camo, strange 000 numbers, and golden flaps (probably the latter belong to the base livery). PS: I forgot my congratulations, this is the best fighter in the (DCS) World! Edited September 22, 2014 by F l a n k e r
Corrigan Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Think you saw the wreckage placeholder. It was white, right? Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
F l a n k e r Posted September 22, 2014 Author Posted September 22, 2014 Ehm, do you mean the flag? Yes it was white!
Corrigan Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 No, the aircraft livery. I've noticed that when a MiG blows up it leaves a white (or light at least) plane with bort number 0000 or something, in red. Is that what you mean? Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
F l a n k e r Posted September 22, 2014 Author Posted September 22, 2014 (edited) Sorry I've noticed just now that the image I've posted is gone, I load it to another server... Yes, it was white with bort number in red. Edited September 22, 2014 by F l a n k e r
Corrigan Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I can only assume that they're using that model as a placeholder (it doesn't exactly look burned-out) until they make a proper wreckage model. I hadn't noticed it had a pilot, though :D Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
ophiuchus Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I think the tutorial(s) have damege turned off. When you construct a mission yourself (with mission editor, or quick flight) you'll find, that actually damage model exists, and it's pretty decent. Attached is what happened to me, when I failed to midair engine start. As for the livery - it looks like factory fresh without any livery at all, hence the yellow flaps and stuff... Pilot still in cockpit may be because of turned off damage.
F l a n k e r Posted September 22, 2014 Author Posted September 22, 2014 Yes, this could be an explanation. Nice pic! PS: I have the impression that will rain MiGs!
