So I bought A-10C: DCS Flaming Cliffs. So I need to download the 6 DCS World downloads and then the A-C10 Warthog download the then Flaming Cliffs download? Do I also need to download all the patches for A-10C? Is this correct or am I missing something.

Thx

No, the A-10C download should be the latest release. No need to download any oother patches.

First, don't confuse A-10A: DCS Flaming Cliffs with A-10C. They are very different.

Second, if you just purchased A-10A, you don't need to install Flaming Cliffs at all. Flaming Cliffs is a package of aircraft that includes the A-10A, F-15C, Su-27, Su-33, Su-25, and Mig-29. But since you bought the stand alone A-10A, don't install Flaming Cliffs.

But, yes, download the 6 DCS World files and run the exe to install DCS World. Then when DCS World is installed, you can use the Module Manager in the main DCS World screen to install A-10A: DCS Flaming Cliffs.

You are right. I ordered A-10A Flaming Cliffs and A-10C Warthog. I take it that A-10C Warthog is a more in depth simulation. Thank you for the clarification on this.

Yes, the A-10C is much more in depth. But both of them are installed the same way through the DCS World Module Manager.

I did the same thing. I already had DCS: A-10C Warthog and then I purchased A-10A for DCS World.

I haven't had a chance to try either of them out yet.

I have only flown the P-51 and currently "trying" to learn the Ka-50.

But the A-10 Warthog has always been one of my Favorite aircraft ... so I bought those Modules.

That said, while I know there is no issue with A-10C ... I am under the impression that I won't have any problems, that is, I don't NEED to get Flaming Cliffs to also fly the A-10C in DCS World due to the following Quote from DCS Website.

"Note: the aircraft model is identical to the Flaming Cliffs 3 module. Owners of FC3 do not need to purchase."

BTW .... and OFF TOPIC >>> With regards to my Nickname/Join Date etc info on the Left Side of the Forum Posts, does anyone know what the WARN row means (at the bottom) ?

I don't see it on anyone else's posts.

Can you guys see it on mine ?

It shows "Warn: (0%) and 5 Yellow'ish boxes.

What does this mean ?

I apologize in advance for essentially Hyjacking This Thread with this posted question. That isn't my intent. I welcome a PM from anyone who can explain this for me .. if that is a more suitable method of replying.

Thanks

A-10A is a separate module. A-10C is a separate module. Flaming Cliffs is a separate module. They are not dependant on each other.

The only thing is, if you own Flaming Cliffs, there is really no need to buy any of the separate DCS Flaming Cliffs titles like DCS Flaming Cliffs: A-10A, DCS Flaming Cliffs: F-15C, or DCS Flaming Cliffs: Su-25. Those titles are just sold separately for those who don't want to buy the whole package of planes.

Remember though that A-10C is not a Flaming Cliffs title.

DCS World is the base package. It's the totally 100% free "core" of the DCS series. DCS World comes with the Su-25T Frogfoot and TF-51D Mustang as free introductory aircraft to give you a feel for the DCS series. Everything that you buy plugs into this, so DCS World is all that you need in order to run any of your modules. Any time you buy a new module such as the A-10C, the UH-1, the Mig-21 and so on, you just need to authorize it through the Module Manager in DCS World. You enter your Licence Key and you're good to go.

Flaming Cliffs 3 is the one slight oddity/outlier in the current DCS universe in that it's a collection of aircraft which includes the A-10A, the F-15C and a few others. It's still just a purchasable module that gets activated through the Module Manager, though.

Hope that helps.

Hi Pizzicato

Thanks ... your reply certainly helps me.

EDIT>>

Again, I apologize to Everyone and most specifically to "dbunger" for including my off topic question in this/his Thread.

As it turns out, there is a specifically related Sticky Thread by Wags in this forum that I had no idea existed.

I guess I should have conducted a more thorough search before interrupting in this Thread.

Again, I'm sorry dbunger.
