The squadrons included are: VF-21 Freelancers (CAG, CO, Line birds) VF-103 Jolly Rogers (CAG, CO, Line birds) VF-124 Gunfighters (CO, Line birds) The VF-103 skins date from their 2000 deployment with CVW-17 on the USS George Washington. Included as the CO bird is the famous "Santa Cat", which has the jolly roger decked out in Christmas gear. Most markings have been westernized, and the pilots have been given USN flightsuits with Naval Aviator wings and squadron patches. The helmet remains Russian made. Home Fries Posted September 28, 2016 Author Posted September 28, 2016 Both skin packs have been re-uploaded with installers that create common texture folders and an autoexec.cfg (if you already have one, you can make manual changes). This coincides with the Su-33 release of the same skin packs, which share some textures. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
Home Fries Posted November 14, 2016 Author Posted November 14, 2016 (edited) DCS 1.5.5 introduces an issue with the Su-27 and Su-33 skins. This issue is easily addressed. See the solution here in my Su-33 thread (though replace any references to the Su-33 folder with Su-27). Thanks to Winston 60 for the solution, which should hold you all over until the issue is stabilized and I can release an update. Winston 60 Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 Using the solution that worked on the Su-33's did not work on the Su-27's, at least for me. I have just provided Home Fries with some other changes to the Su-27's description.lua that got the skins working for me again. Let's let him have a look at my changes and see if he can finalize a fix for the description.lua files for these great skins. I worked for hours on these US Navy skins by Home Fries to get them working again after upgrading to 1.5.5 on Friday as I could not stand to be without them for my Squadron's flights! 1 CPU: i7 980x @ 4.2GHz RAM: 24gb Corsair Vengeance MB: Gigabyte Sniper X58 w/onboard Soundblaster X-Fi HD: SanDisk 480gb SSD OS: Win7 Pro 64bit VIDEO CARD: EVGA GTX 980ti FTW MONITOR: LG 34" Ultrawide 2560x1080 MP SERVER: ibuypower i7-4810MQ w/Win7 Home 64bit GEAR: Saitek X-52 Pro; Combat Rudder Pedals; Throttle Quadrants. Home Fries Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 Volumes I and II are updated to 1.12. The biggest part of the update is the installer that now allows for a traditional install (i.e. textures in livery folder). The 33 volumes are also updated, and the adversaries should be released shortly (27 only). -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide

Plagi_Arism Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Unfortunately, it seems the paint does not match on the nosecone with the paint behind the nose, front of the canopy. (Vol.1 and Vol.2 skins) Please fix it. (Perhaps you should edit the specular map of the nose.) May the THRUST be with you
Home Fries Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 Normally, the nosecone is made of a different material than the aluminum or steel of the aircraft. It's often a fiberglass or resin of some sort - something that won't build up static electricity. It is also painted with a thinner coat to allow the radar to work better (since the dielectric paint can impede the radar). It is true that you don't always see such a mismatch on USN aircraft, but that could also be a difference in construction. Bottom line: I did use the default spec textures in this case, but the mismatch is based in realism. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
NRG-Vampire Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 gotcha. i see your points but i would prefer to use skins where the paint of the nosecone match to paint on the other parts of the nose section, especially because these skins are fictional skins if you release your 1.5 version please make "same paint on nosecone" option for tex07 textures if possible...and for su-33 as well thank you
Home Fries Posted January 25, 2017 Author Posted January 25, 2017 I added gloss to the specular 07 for the ASB skins in my Su-27 Adversary pack, but when I apply those to the standard USN skins it still doesn't improve it. I've also tried matching the green/purple pattern to the 07 spec, but I'm not having a whole lot of success. I'll keep trying, but no promises. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
1stBEAST Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 hey, do you still have the templates for the navy fighter volume 2? my squadron likes the bounty hunter skin very much, especially the HiViz version and we would like to add more numbers. (101,102) to the HiViz
Home Fries Posted September 28, 2017 Author Posted September 28, 2017 Hi Beast, Sorry for the delay. PM me and we can discuss it. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
Home Fries Posted May 7, 2018 Author Posted May 7, 2018 All Su-27 skins were updated to version 1.13. This version updates the Specular files for the ASB Adversary skins and updates the installer for DCS 2.5 and DCS Legacy 1.5. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
