Hey,

the thing I miss a bit in DCS is the effect breaking the sound barrier.

Some little visuals like this:

and shakes in the cockpit would be great.

Just my opinion, I dont notice some stuff like that in dcs. :joystick:

Never parachute into an area you've just bombed

You never have too much fuel, unless you burn.

We have cockpit vibrations now, take the F-15c up for a spin if you have it and you will soon notice them, very nice they are too. As for visual effects, they have been in demand for quite a while, especially vapour and water on the canopy etc. I'm sure ED will look into such things once EDGE is implemented, if they haven't already.

ok, will look closely to the cockpit vibrations.

Yea, I think so too that after the release of EDGE those small things will be implementet (when its not already been) and so I wait and see what ED is going to make out of DCSW.

This is NOT breaking of the sound barrier.

...some times auto-ban will be implemented for such photos and "sound barrier" in the same post.

That effect is cool but is not of the sound barrier braking... that means breaking the sound barrier could be without visual cues and maybe even without shaking. Depends on many things I suppose.

Whoops, well so my source blamed me :D

But what is it then? Searched in google and found just those pics as sound barrier.

But it would be still nice to get some visual effects like this which show whats going on in the air around your plane.

So learned something new today!

EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prandtl%E2%80%93Glauert_singularity Ok now I really learned something new :D

Depends on atmospheric conditions (temperature, pressure, density). But what you see is indeed a (transonic) shock cone emitting from the plane. So it indeed has to do with getting close to, or at the speed of sound (please don't say barrier). Anyway, you would never see a picture like this of the slower hog =)

And normally a pilot will not (or barely) get haptic feedback from passing the speed of sound in modern jets

Woooh! So - "Dobby is free now!" Now it's your turn to scream on any user who will post singularity pic and "soundbarrier" in the same post. :)))

But surely - it looks awesome. )

Haha :D

I will give my best that the rest of the people dont be that inexperienced like me! :pilotfly:

Regards and a nice weekend Griffon26
