Snoutmaster Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 When I taxi the nose wheel is not very responsive Nose Gear Maneuvering Range (S, must be held) so I press and hold s to steer the nose wheel sometimes the wheel blows out and bursts When I disengage nose wheel steering for take-off the nose wheel blows out if I hold it down for take off If I don’t hold it down the nose wheel drifts off left and right severely I'm struggling controlling the front nose wheel taxing and take off.

"S" Nose Gear Maneuvering Range "LAlt - Q" Nose Gear Steering Disengage Try this
Snoutmaster Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 Do I hold the "S" key down when taxing so I can get around sharp corners because It blows my front nose wheel tyre out or do I press it just it the once and taxi also on take off down the runway I hold down the "LAlt - Q" the front nose wheel tyre blows out.
mvsgas Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 How fast are you going when you turn? Aircraft don't like to go fast on the ground, not even real ones. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
Snoutmaster Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 It’s when I initially move the aircraft not very fast –Am I supposed to hold the “S” keys down when taxing –Am I supposed to hold the "LAlt - Q" on take off Also I spool the engines up to 90 before the wheels will move –how do I detect if the brakes are on? Do the brakes need release before taxing to runway

Make sure that your wheel brakes aren't defaulting to ON if you're using a rudder with wheel brakes. I suffered from that from a while when I first got the F-15. I was constantly blowing out my tires on take off until I realised that I needed to invert the axis. i7-7700K @ 4.9Ghz | 16Gb DDR4 @ 3200Mhz | MSI Z270 Gaming M7 | MSI GeForce GTX 1080ti Gaming X | Win 10 Home | Thrustmaster Warthog | MFG Crosswind pedals | Oculus Rift S
Snoutmaster Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 So when the mission starts and you start your engines you should be able to taxi directly to the runway without pressing any keys When you start to roll down the runway you shouldn’t need to touch any keys either the aircraft should steer straight down the middle Without veering off left or right ?
mvsgas Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 You don't have to hold down the s unless you making a sharp turn. If you want nose wheel steering off, press Left alt Q once to off and a second time to on. If you start on the runway, you should be able just to more the throttle forward and take off. It might veer off. Another thing to check is your controls, they might be to sensitive. Like Pizzato posted, it might be brakes related. If you post a track, we might be able to see what is happening. ED Team cofcorpse Posted October 6, 2014 ED Team Posted October 6, 2014 You have to hold 'S' key to make tight turns when taxing, but I think you shouldn't hold 'LAlt+Q' during take-off (it's for taxing with differential braking). Applied brakes or not you can see on controls indicator ('RCtrl+Enter')
