fitness88 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) – Added CSET display on HUD - is displayed for the first 10 seconds after ILS mode selection. What does CSET stand for and what does it do for the 10 seconds while it is displayed? Thank you. Edited October 16, 2014 by fitness88
fitness88 Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 The answer Course Set (CSET) appears on the HUD to remind the pilot to set the final approach course. The CSET symbol flashes for 10 seconds and then disappears. Because we have simplified avionics in FC3 and can't change course setting on HSI, this feature isn't matter in simulator. scutxd Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 So in true mode, the pilot should manully set the final apporach course? Can you teach me more details? Thanks a lot.

Ex. you fly inbound to Nellis AFB, get active runway 21R from ATC and set 209 on course knob to have it correctly visible on HUD and HSI, probably in TACAN mode, that can help you to get aligned on downwind in overhead pattern.
