Domestos Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Hallooo I've decided to try mission building and I've hit my first snag. I put two F4's in the air approaching from Turkey as fodder for my Mig21. No matter what speed/altitude I use they seem to be using full burner so they'll probably never get to me. What speed/alt should I put for them? Is it really KMH theyre showing? Any tips for a Noob would be gratefully accepted. Domestos
Dutchy93 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 At a standard 270 kts those F-4's shouldn't have to use burners. This does depend on their altitude however. If they're up high they need a lot of power to prevent themselves from falling from the sky. If you still have problems you can upload the mission here, and I'll have a look at it if you want.
Fishbreath Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 My mission editor's speeds and heights are in metric. 8000 meters and 800kmh they can do without burners. Yurgon Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I've often observed AI using full burners at mission start for no apparent reason. If they settle at their desired speed and altitude within a minute or two, it shouldn't limit their range too much. Other than that I agree with Dutchy, just upload the mission and we can take a look. BTW, the units you use in the editor should depend on Options -> Gameplay -> Units (Imperial (knots and feet) or Metric (kph and meters)), the default being Imperial IIRC.
