ED Team BIGNEWY Posted October 20, 2014 ED Team Posted October 20, 2014 I know it seems strange as most posts are about taking tension off the warthog to make feel lighter, but I use a warthog with an extension and would like to increase the tension. Has anyone done this or have knowledge about it, if so please share your ideas. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? ED Team BIGNEWY Posted October 21, 2014 Author ED Team Posted October 21, 2014 great ideas all worth considering found a schematic for the current large spring on google, going to have a hunt around to see if I can find a direct replacement for the main spring first. Kuky Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 careful though, you need to have other components being able to take on more force from stronger springs also, you don't want the gimbal to get damaged. Probably your best bet (and what I did also) is to get stick extension, then mount springs on the extension shaft. predator-nz Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I did what kuky did attach the springs on the extension. A lot safer.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted October 21, 2014 Author ED Team Posted October 21, 2014 thanks guys, you are right it is probably the safer option. I am really happy with my extension and it has made flying easier for me, I like the idea of the dampers and will also look for a external spring option. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? MadCow Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Did you make that extension or was that a premade rod that others can go and purchase from a hardware store?
