Aginor Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Hey guys! Yesterday I flew a short mission with a (russian) Huey. I took off from Kobuleti, and a few miles off the coast I had placed a moving Moskva class cruiser and an oil rig to land on. The cruiser was pretty hard to find because there was something wrong: Until a certain distance (forgot to check), I guess some ten miles or so, the cruiser stayed a small black dot (the oil rig was already clearly visible, even at takeoff), and then it suddenly popped into existence at its natural size. Don't know if that is a known bug. Can anyone reproduce that? I play with all settings to max, unmodded, at a resolution of 1980x1020 GFX Card is a NVidia 770 GTX DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
joey45 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Can you upload the mission please...? The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. c84 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) default should be: model = { lods = { {"moscow.edm",10000.000000}, {"ld_tec.edm",20000.000000}, }, collision_shell = "moscow-collision.edm"; thats mean you have moscow model up to 10km, green box from 10km to 20km, above 20km nothing. if you are not happy with that you can easily edit, file name moscow.lods btw lods setts in dcs is one big mess Edited October 21, 2014 by c84
Aginor Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) Here is the mission. Just fly toward the oil rig, for me the Moskva pops in at ~3 miles. EDIT: I can confirm the lods file looks exactly like c84 posted it.testShips.miz Edited October 21, 2014 by Aginor DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
