joch Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Hi, I am another candidate with update problems. I run 1.2.2.7570 and the newly bought Modules won’t install with this version so I can't use them. I tried to start the update process manually to 1.2.10.32582.527 and C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\autoupdate_log.txt says STATUS: Successfully updated to 1.2.10.32582.527 Just next time I start DCS World it is still 1.2.2.7570 (so nothing changed). Probably I have to reinstall the whole thing as SkateZilla wrote I have to de-activate before I do that. Could someone explain how this is done? Thanks Janko
AtaliaA1 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Did U run the "Repair" already? This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. joch Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 Yep I did run repair before as stated in http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030 Sorry but thanks Janko
Buzzles Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I think at this point, considering 1.2.2.xxx is very old, it might just be easier to reinstall from scratch using the exe's on the website, rather than try to update that really old version. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
joch Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 ok Yes, this is what I thought. But how do I “de-activate” the modules I use in the old version? As I don't wan't to lose activation. Thanks for your support Janko
cichlidfan Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 If you are just going to remove what you have currently and install the newest version, you don't need to deactivate at all. Your existing activation will be picked up by the new install. You may get a prompt telling you that your key is activated and for you to confirm, but it does not use another activation (if it did, I would have run out a very long time ago). The only time deactivation is a good idea, IMHO, is if you are going to change hardware or the OS. Otherwise, unless you actively edit the registry to remove the DCS entries, they remain in effect. joch Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 Ok, thanks I have two little questions open: - by „remove what you have“ you mean de-installing dcs-world via windows? - just as a question of curiosity: where do I deactivate modules should the need arise? Thank you for your support Janko
