Before I post a bug report, I'd like to find if it's just me...

First - When loading a mission the game will freeze for several seconds before doing the usual unzoom. I think others have reported this.

Second - Although I am a superior sim pilot even I sometimes get into a stall (I know, hard to believe). I find the sim will pause for several seconds as the stall happens (as if the sim is loading a 'stall fm') before returning to smooth fps, the aircraft having jumped position as though it was still moving while the screen was frozen.

Hope that makes sense. My old rig runs a C2D E8400 at 3ghz, 8gb ram, gtx650ti 2gb gpu.

The mig is the only module where this happens. Thanks!

I haven't had any pauses or stutters once in the game, but my loading bar freezes and the mig-21 takes approximately 2x as long to load as the other modules.

Is it a once in a flight thing for each type of event? I remember on my old computer it'd often have a short stutter the first time a sound loaded or other events like that.

Do you use a HDD or SDD?

Hi Rico,

The loading is longer than usual, yes, but it's the pause in the 3d world that is unusual.

The pause when stalling usually ends up in a crash, so I've not been able to repeat it in a mission. I'll try starting much higher and see what happens.

I'm using HDD.

Edit: Just spent some time in the instant action Free Flight mision and noted the pause after loading until the 3d world starts to unzoom at around 11 seconds.

Stalling, it's worse the first time, about five seconds, but still around 1 second pauses for each stall after in my first try. In the next mission a similar pause at the first stall and none for the next few.

BTW, in f3 view watching the mig tumble when it's properly stalling looks very real.

I've looked at this some more and used OpenHardwareMonitor to see what's going on. Armed only with a stopwatch and a pencil, this is what I've found...

First, load time on my system for the instant action free flight mission is around 1.15 until the 'fly' screen comes up.

After pressing 'fly' the 3d cockpit view comes up and hangs for 12 seconds then starts at a steady 45 fps and does the unzoom thing. During the pause OHM noted that core 1 load peaked at 100%. GPU core figure was around 95% for the whole mission, with a few dips.

Nothing else (ram, gpu ram, temps) showed anything unusual.

Curiously, when the sim paused for 6 seconds as I stalled (steep bank and stick back) OHM showed nothing.

I'll do some more investigation, but looks like my CPU is really showing it's age!

I'm having the same pause after the mission is loaded, everything is blocked.

My CPU i7 920 @3.4 GHz, question: which anti-virus program are you using? Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2015 here, I'm suspecting it has somehing to do with that

I don't have any AV apart from Windows Defender.

Sounds like you have a similar problem and your system should be at least 10% quicker than mine in DCS (probably much more).

I'm also wondering about disk access - I didn't look at what the HDD was doing.

Maybe someone from LN might comment, please.

All fixed in 1.2.11.

Thanks!

Sounds promising.....hopefully they will now re-instate the MiG-21 back on the VA server when the update is released to the open DCS World.

It's a BiG miss at the moment.
