Crash - Assuming mod related

Most times when I host a MP session my game randomly crashes after about 1-2 hours. I assume the problem is related to my installed mods (mods = user files) because since I gave a friend my modset his game also crashes exactly at the same time my game crashes whenever we fly together.

 

The .crash file contains the same crash reasons everytime this happens (ACCES_VIOLATION) but I can't find out which mod is responsible for. It's not easy to test because it just crashes after about 1-2 hours. Also a problem is that I can't read the dump file format.

I think pure graphics and sound mods may not cause crash. You should examine other mods.

 

My observations:

 

• If I were you, I'd pull some mods and try it again over again.
   
  
• For second step, it's better to uninstall some mods that modifies DCS World system files, such as Better Fire & Smoke mod or Realistic Ground Smoke mod etc.
   
  
• Make sure there's no collision between two mods that mentioned above.
   
  
• Turn off SweetFX and try it for a few days - or get newer version if available.
  

 

By the way, I assume your system works well without those mods.

Well it seems NVIDIA currently not supports DCS^^ It couldn't find it and in the official game list DCS is also not listed :0

Take a look at the other thread about DSR. Has nothing to do with the DCS title itself, but the Hardware that it is run on. Well worth a look.

Without all mods the problem does not occur.

 

Some of your mods are out of date and could be potentially causing the problems, for example DeeperBlueSky V1.1 is for Flaming Cliffs 2, Realistic ground smoke-dust is for outdated effect and Better Fire, Smoke & Explosions Mod could also be using older .luas that could cause crash.

That doesn't mean that nVidia doesn't support DCS.

 

Some mods you're using may not be updated for latest version of DCS.

Thanks I already removed the two smoke mods, I'll also remove the DepperBlueSky mod and see if it does crash again. Definitly will need some time to test that, hopefully it does not happen again^^

 

Thanks for the help; I applied DSR to DCS and it looks pretty nice but due to the higher resolution the game renders fonts very small, is there a solution for? :)

In yesterdays session which lasted about 2 hours the game did not crash which is a good sign. It's to early to say it's fixed but I think that three mods caused the problem! :)

I'd like to use DSR for DCS but as said before it renders the fonts unreadabel small, anyone know a solution? :]

No solution to that, other than setting the resolution to the a level that allows fonts to be readable. I set DSR to the highest Resolution and had the same issue. I lowered it until I had a legible font size. Bigger the screen the more legible the font. I would love to see DCS on a 50" with DSR.
