Whats that? :)

I get it. 3 diamods in wedge, and the slot arrow joins later to form a diamond of the 3 diamonds and the arrow in slot

P.S. And the F-15C is even better for killing ships, believe me.

nice work,

Also think of your formations kill envelope. The guys at 10k do not have much room to shoot and scoot. The guy from 40k will be primary killer due to speed and room to move and keep his kenetic energy focused on incoming bandits that are defencive from the foward "arrow"

Here is a simple drawing.

(Pre warning) I am a pure ground attack pilot so forgive me if I am wrong. But won't this not work? Since the height of weapon release as currently modelled in lockon not have any impact on range?

I have heard this mentioned since WAFM is non existant. If that is so, I guess your tactic works because the enemy target the aircraft in line of sight, hence ignoring the slot aircraft.

For those that don't understand - he is saying a good tactic is to have a slower aircraft at the same height as enemy formation, head on. Another aircraft at a higher altitude travelling faster but behind the lower aircraft. In real life the faster aircraft with much greater altitude has much greater range with its weapons. However the enemy seeing the "slot" aircraft - the higher one being further away, treats it as less of a threat. However the slot aircraft having greater weapon range can engage the enemy - possibly before they can egage the forward aircraft.

Again, as a pure ground attack pilot, I may be wrong (on both points).
