504MrWolf Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Sorry i didnt reply earlier, saw the thread but was pushed for time. MULTI-PLAYER DYNAMIC CAMPAIGN IS A DEFINATE MUST FOR LOCKON !! If the output is already in the single player engine then it must be added to the mulitplayer !! Then ED and all the Lockon Squads will have a free MP DC system which could be updated and made better and better for the whole life of Lockon !! It would make my job as a Virtual Wing CO 20x easier and Squad life much fuller ! I willbe testing SW2 from now on and will go read their forums and get involved. www.VVS504.co.uk www.lockonskins.co.uk
brewber19 Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Just adding my two pence (cents) to have DC for MP....as Wolfie says, it would make the guys' life ALOT easier and a much better server experience, especially for us mudmovers....and there are lots of us (just checked Zorlacs stats :)). Please please please ED can we have a DC working in MP?! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 487th Helicopter Attack Regiment, of the VVS504 Red Hammers
51GRIZZLY Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Im all for it ...... MP Dynamic campaigns are what we need to make Lock On the top of all available air combat sims.
dodger42 Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Although incomplete, I have a multiplayer dynamic campaign running on a development server. It isnt as 'dynamic' as Falcon, but that just isn't possible with lomac. I can't give more details, but am working on this pretty much fulltime at the moment, and its looking promising. It's lightweight, very fast, and will be very easy to administer. Regards, Dodger . . . Lockon Advanced Realism with Touch-Buddy
RuskyV Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Got my support here, outstanding work!!!:icon_supe
4c Hajduk Veljko Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Although incomplete, I have a multiplayer dynamic campaign running on a development server. It isnt as 'dynamic' as Falcon, but that just isn't possible with lomac. I paid $16 a year ago to Ross MacGregor and hope he will be able to finish his project. I feel like my $16 was well spent even if Ross never finishes his job. If you, Dodger42, make some kind of DC that works, you can count on my money too. SwingKid Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 I can't give more details... This sounds like a very interesting project, but - why the secrecy? If I were in those shoes (and I am :) ) - developing a multiplayer DC, mostly on my own - I'd be happy to talk about it with someone else doing something similar. I made a few mistakes along the way, that some good advice from a colleague might have helped me to avoid. -SK
dodger42 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Hey SwingKid, I don't want to release details openly until its working fully. However I am more than happy to talk with you about it ... collaborate even. I will send you a PM. . . . Lockon Advanced Realism with Touch-Buddy
dodger42 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Wow, thanks Hajduk, that is very thoughtful. I know what Ross was developing was more complex than mine. Wait until you see it =) Regards, Dodger . . . Lockon Advanced Realism with Touch-Buddy
Greenies Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 I really hope that SwingKid and dodger42 get something up and running. This is a great initiative, and I'm sure that ED appreciates what you guys are doing for the game and the community. :) It would also be great if ED made things easier for you two by adapting LOMAC to your needs, but I guess they have enough on their hands right now, working on Black Shark and everything. We can always hope, though :D I want to get away, I wanna fly away. Yeah, yeah, yeah! - Lenny Kravitz - Fly Away
AndyHill Posted April 12, 2006 Author Posted April 12, 2006 It would also be great if ED made things easier for you two by adapting LOMAC to your needs, but I guess they have enough on their hands right now, working on Black Shark and everything. We can always hope, though :D Well the best thing is that ED really wouldn't need to do that much. They already have all sorts of mission debrief systems and event logs, chances are it would be very simple to implement all the necessary features. _____________________________________________________________ Lock on MUST have a dynamic campaign system with multiplayer support! dodger42 Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Has anybody ever looked at where the actual debrief stats are held? I presume its just in memory on the client system. Has anybody noticed discrepency of debrief statistics from the server to a client (assuming of course the client was connected from start to finish of the mission). D . . .
