Nobody said it was the real thing, but ED has an active duty Eagle Driver who is pretty impressed with the PFM overall, he is still giving feedback as I said above, but has been impressed with the feel, taking in to account that you are not in a real jet moving at speed... you'll have to understand that ED will lean towards a verified source than someones Uncle Buck the Eagle Driver for feedback though ;)

F-15 pilot quotes.

 

Accelerate to supersonic speeds while climbing vertically.

 

Even in a hard turn, the F-15 is smooth and does not buffet. (5-6 g is considered moderate).

 

The F-15 can start a 4 g turn at 20000 ft and mach 0.9 and can climb to 27000 ft in 180 degrees.

 

The F-15 flies an even and controllable approach at about a 140 kts and 19 units AoT with a touchdown at 110 kts.

 

The pilot said it had excellent and stable handling up to 9g.

 

I tried several supersonic rolls at 20000 feet and some very hard turns, the aircraft handles easily and turns exceptionally well even at supersonic speeds. (What no buffet).

 

Aircraft is still controllable at 100 kts.

 

The aircraft will accelerate to mach 2.5 at 36000 ft. ( well bugger me the game plane will actually do that).

 

Etc. etc.

 

The Su-27 feels good (I don't know any better) but the F-15 is a big disappointment.

You dont give any information on the specs of the Eagle in the test, where these quotes came from, etc etc... so mostly its meaningless

You'll excuse me if I come across a little jaded when people make claims, its hard not to be with some of the nonsense I have seen in my many years on the internet... regardless though... ED has an active Eagle Driver testing the PFM, we really shouldnt stress this PFM all that much, and its not so much directed at you as just a general statement.

 

 

Well, you can call him what ever you want but with 2500+hrs in the eagle he knows what he is talking about.. I didn't say he wasn't impressed. his issue was lack of Gforce and different controls made it awkward. This is what I originally commented on for the OP. an entertainment sim that is using generic controls can't replicate the feeling of flying the plane.

 

What's irritating about this is that truly I'm not even arguing your/ed standpoints

I'm for the most part agreeing with them.

 

Yet Viper and now yourself have tossed in insults both towards me and my cousin NOT UNCLE. discredit me as if I know nothing. This is exactly the reason SIM games have such a small following. People act like arrogant assholes with there nose so high they can't see they are ruining it for the people who just want to enjoy it.

Yes. Just fly the streak eagle profile. Generally no otherwise.

Incorrect. The F-15 will buffet the moment you hit the AoA at which it buffets. G has nothing to do with it.

This is a meaning-less statement. Stability is tied to AoA, not g.

You get buffet at a certain AoA. Get over it.
