Hello guys,

i thought before i ask my question is to say hello and introduce my self.

My name is Simo and ive been a military simulator games fan for over a decade since the release of operation flash point till ARMA 3 now. I love flying so my main role in ARMA 3 is flying the CAS or sometime helicopter transport.

I came across DCS world on steam and i thought to give it a try and to my surprise im loving it, although its not fair to compare it to ARMA regarding the flying part since i find DCS is way more realistic than ARMA when it comes to flying , I actually find myself obliged to study the F-15C manual ( which is the aircraft im interested in beside the SU 27) and understand every aspect of the aircraft just to fly it which not only fun but its entertaining not to mention that every aircraft's manual is different .

I find it rather not fair to call DCS a game its rather a teaching software of how to fly fighter aircraft and adding a ton of information to your knowledge.

So not to make it long , I wanted to ask you guys since im new to DCS and Eagle dynamics, Do they have future plans of a Rafale fighter module or is the game based on American Vs Russian type of aircraft.

Thanks in advance for answering.

Regards,

Simo

A first direct answer is that VEAO, a 3rd party company announced the posibility to develop a Rafalle:

However, their roadmap is a long time plan and we are talking here about years... Also that plan is subject to changes.

What you have to be prepared here in the DCS world is patience. Things are not going very fast, at least until now, but the finsihed products level is way above anything on the market.

As close future updates I will enumarate few most importants according to your interest (for now):

- new graphic engine EDGE - the most important thing of all. All of us are waiting from years. It is almost here, we are just praying for its release :D

- dual seat plane L39 and the new feature to play pilot-copilot

- VEAO are working on Eurofighter Typhoon. We all hope for late next year release.

Untill then, start read the MODS forum topics which will change DCS up to an unrecocgnizable level of detail... to better I mean.

And yes, people here call DCS as study sim, which it really is. Try the A10C module and you will see the real study sim, unlike F15C and Su27 which are somehow inherited simplified planes.

Read here the terms you will find used within DCS products:

Oh, to not forget. Try the free SU-25T, you will be amazed how much good time you will have in it. Also you can play for free with the TF-51 (unarmmed Mustang, full study sim machinery)

If i install a MOD on the game will it affect the MP servers, in another words would i be able to play online on any servers with the mods installed or the server has to have that mod also.

And thank you guys for the quick answers :)

MP servers usually have no such mods installed, or they clearly specify about them.

Even you can manage to login with the mods installed, other players will see kind of generic plane like SU-27/Mig29 or anything like this. It will be better for you to avoid this in MP.

Use JGSME to easily add/remove mods so that you can enjoy them also.

One more think. All planes comming as free mods have simplified flight model which makes the flight quite like on rails. In this moment there are only 2 models left in FC3 which are still SFM and they are Mig29 and SU-33.

Despite planes mods, you better try install terrain improvment mods, sweetfx, sound mods for some planes, cockpit HD textures... just try to break a little your initial wishes and start exploring the real goodies :D
