Notice at 0:53 the pilot pulls the JFS starter before he's barely even sat down..... Does anyone know what kind of state the jets are in when they're on standby e.g. having the power already enabled similar things to that?

I mean he went from cold to rolling in 3 and a half minutes, which a full cold start would have no hope in hell of doing when you consider fiddling with the battery and fuel switches, warning light tests etc....

Switches are set up such that you take the minimum amount of actions necessary to get in the air.

Is still a full cold start. Don't mistake switches being in the right place to begin with some sort of semi-started state.

The jets are always "hot pre-flighted". It doesn't take long to actually crank the jet and taxi away. Both engine masters on, ramp switches auto, gen switches on, JFS starter switch to on, and engine control switches on. The radar can do a BIT test while taxiing. Doesn't take much.

JFS handle pull, get a ready light, raise the #2 finger lift. 20% give it gas. Repeat for #1.

Now a Strike Eagle, takes a little longer.

During my service as a groundcrew in the RNoAF, Alert-recovery was actually more fun than alert-launches. Why? Because you have an AWFUL lot to do in very little time in order to get the jet readied for another launch. 15 minutes from shutdown isn't very much, even though the pilot aligns the INS before the jet shuts down. You get what you can done before shutdown, and stand ready to dive into the intake the second the engine stops rotating, hoping to get in before the fueltruck and/or weaponscrew arrives.

The Vipers are launched pretty much like the Eagle is, although you only have one engine to start. From what I remember, the startup-procedure is somewhat shorter, though.

Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone.

I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.
