TheTrooper Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Hi everyone, I have just been having a look around DCS World. By clicking in 'Missions' you get to navigate a serioes of folders. There is one called 'Training'. Each one contains sub folders but these are empty? I assumed there would be some interesting training material in here ----------------------------------------------- Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-6700 (3.4GHz) 8MB Cache | 32GB HyperX FURY DDR4 2133MHz | MSI GeForce RTX 2070 ARMOR 8G |SSD 1TB 970 EVO Plus M.2
jkeiltaylor Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) I believe training material is installed separately. On the DCS Website, go to Downloads/Video. Edited January 2, 2015 by jkeiltaylor
TheTrooper Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 It downloaded a .exe file (for SU-27 vids). Doesn't seem to want to run. Is it because I've got the Steam DCS World? ----------------------------------------------- Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-6700 (3.4GHz) 8MB Cache | 32GB HyperX FURY DDR4 2133MHz | MSI GeForce RTX 2070 ARMOR 8G |SSD 1TB 970 EVO Plus M.2
jkeiltaylor Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 The .exe file installs the video files into the proper folders. Then, you view the videos from within DCS World itself. It shouldn't matter if it is the Steam version, as long as the installer is pointing to the correct directory.
TheTrooper Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 The only thing I can think of is placing the file somewhere in particular before running it. Where would be the question ----------------------------------------------- Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-6700 (3.4GHz) 8MB Cache | 32GB HyperX FURY DDR4 2133MHz | MSI GeForce RTX 2070 ARMOR 8G |SSD 1TB 970 EVO Plus M.2
Ironhand Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 (edited) It puts them in: (Your DCS Installation folder)\Mods\aircrafts\Flaming Cliffs\Missions\en\Training\Su-27. Note that one subfolder is named: aircrafts. The default folder in the sim, however, doesn't have the "s". EDIT: So this is installing in a location the sim isn't going to know about--the folder might have been the plural "aircrafts" at some point but no longer is. You can try copy/pasting them in the correct location or, since these are video files, view them simply as videos outside the sim.
