updated 1.2.8 - to 1.2.14

Everything worked fine until I fired up DCS world after several months and did the update.

Now:Mouse buttons don't work once aircraft is ready to fly/

( screen 1)

for take off practice I get this first(briefing.jpg)

must use< pause break>

No mouse button response from pause menu

the cursor still works and it is an arrow

the only way out is to Go into task manager and exit DCS world -

This is the same for all aircraft!

Is something set up wrong in file locations perhaps?

when i first down-loaded way back when... I downloaded files and planes to c:/ simulators-etc

example:

simulators.jpg

My DCS world folder above contains an exe file and bin files:

( dcs-folder.jpg )

My Program Files folder ( C:\Program Files ) contains my Eagle Dynamics folder

C:\program files \ eagle dynamics \ DCS world)

see (DCS world Folder.jpg)

In this folder

Downloads is empty

my first thought is to wipe the system clean and reload DCS world and my aircraft and perhaps put them where they are supposed to go ( or does dcs world take care of this after I open DCS world and re-select my aircraft? )

Sorry for the long post but I could think of no other way to provide enough info.

In the start menu under Eagle Dynamics there is an update icon click it to continue the updates. I would not worry until the software is completely up to date. There is also a repair icon if u want to stay at that ver.

Something that often corrects issues is to rename your saved games DCS folder to DCS1, fly a mission and it will create a new DCS folder. This will at least rule out the possibility that the problem may exist within the saved games folder.

something in the config folder.... but what?

You both are onto something here. I ran the updater but it did not do anything, then I ran the "repair" and things started getting happening.

I renamed my config file ( before all this ) to configback.

When I loaded the game again, I got the engine sound and the music theme ( which I did not realize was missing )

Then my p51 loaded in some default 1 screen resolution... ( But the mission screen did not come up and the mouse worked! ) just resolution and one monitor had defaulted some how. ---

Ah.. the config files. - they were recreated. so I copied the contents of my configback to the new config folder.

Now I'm right back where I was before with no mouse and no flyover sound or sound track - and that mission screen again, so something in the config folder is seriously out of whack.

I'm really only concerned about my thrustmaster profiles.

So, do I just delete the config file again, repair dcs again and then then only look for my thrustmaster profiles, or start from scratch, ( ouch).

Another interesting thing was that my p51 did not show up with a serial number ( noticed that before in modules ).. it requested to up date that an it says i have 9 authorizations left ???

What should I do before I start deleting and moving stuff.

not being very "up" on the inner workings of how it works, but up on age...

I thought that's what my shortcut was to ( saved games)- but I realized that was not the save games folder but the config folder . ( from last summer I found out where that is.. )

I wanted to shed light on the config folder in case I screwed something up ( which in error I thought had to do with saved games ) - and the fact that I had flat out deleted it by renaming that one.

Since you did not sound any alarms over what I did to the config folder, I'll go find the saved games folder and rename that one .

Thanks again... I'll report back

Well... This is a new one on me.

Everything worked with renaming the dcs folder except i was back at a single monitor set up at some default resolution.

But the mouse worked and audio and all worked.

so went back to the config menu - it was set to 1 monitor so I set it to 3 and the spanned resolution.

Now,

no mouse!

So there has to be some twist here - I went into the nvidia setup and some how ( probably someone on my computer playing "STEAM"... OII*U(&&^

i reset up my 3 monitor span, set the bezel alignment, saved everything -

loaded DCS world, BINGO!!! we have sound, mouse , and 3 monitor set up.

i have no clue why this is , but it works so now I'm back in business.

Thanks for help on the config file. Evidently, it was set up 3 monitors - someone screwed with my Graphics card (Hello Password! )...

And DCS world was still set to 3 monitors at a spanned resolution.

( And that's what I was seeing too.. 3 monitors, proper resolution... just no sound and no mouse )

Explains the brief flash of the dcsworld screen on the left monitor and then on the right one.

OK. this is one I'll remember!

Thanks for the help... REALLY!!!
