promethius7 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I guess you can guess what my problem is from the title. When I use the auto pilot buttons they change from one shade of blue to a slightly different shade of blue and I cannot tell when they are on, or not, until I am dancing all over the sky. My question is: Can I edit a file somewhere so that the buttons have two totally different colours in their relative states (say blue and red)? I hope someone can help me. By the way I have BS2 English download version. Thank you. Ivan.
Inrideo Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) I think the file you're looking for is in /Mods/aircraft/Ka-50/Cockpit/Resources/Model/Textures There's a file called Cockpit-Ka-50 Textures. I unzipped it and it looks like you'll be able to tint the colors you need in there. If you don't have Photoshop the DDS files can be edited with Paint.net Ka-50 buttons.dds has the autopilot buttons. Inrideo Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Ah, the English cockpit buttons are here: DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\Ka-50\Liveries\Cockpit_Ka-50\english [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] T.Flight HOTAS | Custom DIY Cyclic and Collective | AMD FX8350 | 16GB RAM | 4TB HDD | 2x 128 GB SSD | NVidia 1080
Inrideo Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I shifted the color value to yellow using the Adjustment Layers in paint. This is the modified original buttons dropped into the English version. promethius7 Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 That is brilliant, but... I'm not as smart as you are so could I ask a favour? Would you upload your editted "Ka-50 buttons_ENG.dds" file so that I can simply insert it into the folder? Thank you in advace as this is just what I need.

Inrideo Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Are there other buttons you need shifted? I'll do a pass and create a KA-50_colorblind livery (base livery but with the adapted cockpit) for the user files. Inrideo Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 The new cockpit buttons just got approved by the moderator :) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1210671/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] T.Flight HOTAS | Custom DIY Cyclic and Collective | AMD FX8350 | 16GB RAM | 4TB HDD | 2x 128 GB SSD | NVidia 1080
promethius7 Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 You have excelled my expectations. Thank you so much. I can now contol the Ka50 from take off (instead of having to "feel" which button were on).
Jonesie Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I had a lot of trouble telling what state each autopilot button was in too, and I'm not even colorblind (according to every eye test I've ever taken, anyway). I could never tell if they were on or off just by looking at them. Using a cockpit mod (Ricardo's or Devrim's, I can't remember which) solved it for me but Inrodeo's color mod above is even better, especially for anyone who is colorblind. Nice work
Inrideo Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 If any other buttons or cockpits need color shifting just let me know. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] T.Flight HOTAS | Custom DIY Cyclic and Collective | AMD FX8350 | 16GB RAM | 4TB HDD | 2x 128 GB SSD | NVidia 1080
DieHard Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 If any other buttons or cockpits need color shifting just let me know. My post concerning the RWR colors in the Su-25T: ================================ http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=136921 The mod I found works good enough to let me see the red color better. But I still would like to know how to mod it. Thanks for any help. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
