DWaldie Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I've been trying to trim my aircraft without much luck. I assume I set it up for level flight with the joystick and press trim. Nothing happens. I've read the FAQ and it says turn off force feedback. Does this mean I have to do without force feedback if I want to trim :(
Harzach Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) You said: "I assume I set it up for level flight with the joystick and press trim." From that statement, it seems as though you might possibly be pressing the T/O TRIM button and expecting it to trim the aircraft to its current state. Edited January 7, 2015 by Harzach
SDsc0rch Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 can you try "pressing and holding" instead of a quick "press and release" ? i7-4790K | Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkI | 16Gb DDR3 | EVGA GTX 980 | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | Panasonic TC-58AX800U [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
cameleon33 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 The trim in the A10C is set by short impulsion on the trim command for the axis you want to Trim. Look at the commands parameters, you should have at least 4 commands like 'Trim Up', 'Trim Down', 'Trim Left' and 'Trim Right'. So you have to use these 4 commands to ease the efforts you need to apply on the commands to maintain level flight. It's not the same process as in Ka-50 in which you level flight and then press a button to "save" the current stick position. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Harzach Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Depending on your setup, you might find that placing the trim commands on a hat switch (with or without a modifier key) will make your flying experience much more manageable and enjoyable.

Done that, and what a good idea. However, if I try to raise or drop the nose by using a trim control the plane drops either it's left or right wing and becomes much harder to control. I guess I must be doing something wrong?

Looks like you need to check the "swap axis" box in the FF Tune window. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
