Harpoon Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) Is there anyone else that favors the old payload and encyclopedia over the diagram-ish/booklike ones we have nowadays? I remember the old ones, when we had a nice 3D view of the aircraft before flight. My grand old LOMAC setup has this feature. Is there a way to access any sort of thing in-game before the flight, or was it removed for a particular reason? My main gripe with the new (or should I say not so new) payload window is the fact that we can't see the skins we've selected before having to wait 3-5 minutes to fly the thing. The encyclopedia in the old days gave us a view from all perspectives, not just from a wingman's POV. Interpersonal drama and ad hominem rebuttal are things that do not belong on a thread viewed by the public. One thing i have to point out... naming a thread.. "OK, so" is as useful as tits on a bull.
McBlemmen Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 I have no idea what you're talking about since i've only been using DCS world for a few years but it sounds pretty good. Like falcon BMS?

Edit: can't because print screen is only showing desktop Edited January 16, 2015 by Harpoon If you want to talk to anyone about anything personal, send it to their PM box. Exorcet Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) The old payload system was good. It was easier to plan and experiment with and help with familiarization of weapons, skins, and aircraft. Besides the 3D element, I liked being able to just make a payload without having to save it. Rather than just bring it back though, I think it should be updated. They layout could be better, and when actually saving a payload I think it was a bit more clunky, but I don't really remember. Good new options would be fuel loads for external tanks, being able to change pylons, getting drag values, and range estimates. The 3D encyclopedia was helpful too, but I think it was more of a novelty. I'd like it back, but what would be more helpful is more standardized and detailed information. Example, many planes just list their cannon for weapons. That's not very useful. You can look at skins before flying sort of, you need to use the model viewer. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=103775 Edited January 16, 2015 by Exorcet Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
Solty Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) I am sorry but I don't find it most important thing for now. There are basic problems with UI that need correction. But I like the idea Edited January 16, 2015 by Solty [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]In 21st century there is only war and ponies.
