Honest989 Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Ok. FC by itself is hard.. that first mission is giving me a headache, so i decided to try out the vanilla campaign for the SU-25t.. the one about eco-terrorists who have some how managed to steal a load of hot-pooh military hardware and no one knows who they are.. :icon_pidu The second mission basically involves a long, convoluted flight path that eventually puts you up against two SU-25's and two aa boats. Now, the SU-25's are a pain, but if you drop the tanks and don't announce your presence until about 2.5 miles behind them then you're ok... but the boats... The boats are beneath a low.. I guess fog bank. Now, you can't see them beneath it... I don't think the SU-25t has an IR loadout to see beneath.. so to ensure a hit you pretty much have to go beneath the cloud... However: My pc normally has about 30-40 fps while playing, but sometimes it'll slow down which necessitates a pause and alt-tab. But when I go beneath this fog bank and see the ships, I get 1-5 FPS. I really don't know what to do..
Weta43 Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Try turning everything down on the graphics & if that's not enough drop the screen size, & if that's not enough declassify & remove the clouds. Cheers.
aimmaverick Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 My God. It makes you wonder how devs did it. Maybe Cray supercomputer lol. Waypoints are supposed to get you out of trouble not running directly into them.
SUBS17 Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 That mission is a suicide mission because of both the loadout(rockets:rolleyes: ) and the fog. You can declasify the mission by using the password eagle . Get rid of the fog and loadup with some decent weapons. FYI- I tried this mission many times and the ships require alot of rockets to sink, if ya don't sink them they attack your base.:D [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
Jascha Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Yeah... I remember this mission. It's insane. How can you engage targets that you can't see with unguided weapons? Sick. :) The target can be seen on the HUD, that's true, but taking the correction (for moving target) in this conditions seems impossible to me. It's only a pure luck question then... I'm also disappointed, that in many custom missions/campaigns the authors put bad weather conditions simply too often. What do they want to prove? It gets me only angry... regards PS. BTW. Honest989, have You tried with "Mercury"-POD? It's IR system I gues. Provides target data for Shkvall in low-light ops. Should help....
