I recently decide to try steam streaming between 2 computers at home. I was simply amased playing a game on my wireless conected laptop.

I have curiosity: does anybody try stream DCS over steam?

I heard about this. I wasn't sure exactly what it was though. The game "runs" on your gaming PC, but streams to another device that you can play it on?

For example, Could I hook my joystick up to a laptop and play from that while it "runs" on my main PC?

Intel i5-2500k @ 4.4GHz w/ H70 liquid cooler, ASRock PRO3-M Z68 Mobo, 32G 1600Mhz Mushkin RAM, EVGA GTX970 4GB , OCZ Agility 3 128g SSD, SanDisk 240g SSD, Win7 64-bit

Well... still trying to figure out how to connect the controller to my laptop and be seen by the game. What I can see right now on game controllers within game setting are the ones that are connected to the main rig.

I am currently using stream steam to play Arma3 and DayZ. They are working like charm. My laptop remain cool as ice, no processing at all on its side, all the work being done at main rig level.

Today I tried playing on a netbook (obsolete hardware, 1GHz AMD C30 and 2GB RAM). On 10" display a slow paced game like DayZ is perfect. I can play it anywhere in house ... excellent FPS ... amazed, really amazed about this option!

Thanks for posting about it!

I gave it a try as well with an ancient laptop. One that I need to revive every couple of months by taking out the 9500m graphiccard and bake it in the oven for 8-10 minutes. ;D (nvidia bumpgate)

I used my current DCS WORLD beta installation from ED (outside steam).

By using the option to add the executable from a non-steamgame to the steamlibrary.

I had some issues getting the controls correctly setup, as for example I had to restart DCS on the main pc to get back all the controls for all the modules back as all things appeared to be gone.

And then another restart, but then launched from the laptop with the streamfunction. Then there appeared a new Valve joystick control column added to the controlsmenu. I used an xbox 360 pad on the laptop.

It's impressive that it works easily without issues. A small bit of lag while flying but not so problematic as you might expect. Really impressed as well.

Funny stuff :)

I did not read very carefully first time, then I realize the above statement.... and this is just AWESOME.

Thank you for the hint! ;)

Great you got it. You can add a videoplayer program to your steamlibrary with that and watch a movie on a tablet with streaming.

Anyway I did some testing, and I think I write a little easy tutorial.

Here it is
