Serving Gun Pods to Vikhr

Hi,

 

I'm not able anymore to serve Guns to Vikhr. what I do is:

 

Choose GunPods

 

Turn on TV display

 

Lockon to target

 

Turn on Laser

 

Press "A" (automatic pilot) @ altitude of 800-1000 meters @450-500Km/h

 

My plane begins to climb trying to align guns pipper with Vikhr pipper, but never suceeding.

 

I get the launch authorize, I fire, but of course can't hit anything due to desalignement of pippers.

Sounds like you are too close to the target before switching on autopilot so that there isn't enough time to align things.

 

My usual sequence is: 1) select gunpods, 2) turn on the optical system, 3) find the target area and ground stabilize, 4) engage autopilot (at this point the autopilot stabilizes your altitude at it's current level but you can steer right or left by moving the HUD pipper), 5) select auto depression and the number of pods to use, 6) place the pipper over the target.

 

You do not have to lock the target. If you are attacking a row of aircraft, for example, and would like to walk the canon fire up the line, you definitely do NOT want to lock a target. Just place the pipper over the first target in line and wait for the range to close. EDIT: For a single target, you can lock if you want. END EDIT

 

7) At around 7km, turn on the laser designator (SHIFT-O), wait for permission to shoot, and pull the trigger, 8) move the cursor and shoot. Move the cursor and shoot. 9) Disengage autopilot, shut down A2G, and get the hell out.

For me, the sequence you describe only works when I fly a little lower, around 500-600 meters.

I didn't come to my mind to manually move the pipper up to shadow the shkval indicator on the HUD. Of course, the higher you are more difficult is to hit your target.

 

What I need is practice now :redface:
