emg Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Nice that DCS gets attention. Unfair to say DCS has been Russian-minded, though. This misconception is one reason many casual western vpilots don't try DCS... and propagating that misconception isn't cool.
outlawal2 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Decent write up... In fairness though there was only the one single line about it being Russian-minded, and if you are not a hard line DCS fan then the fact that the last 10 years has been played only in the caucases, you might make that conclusion... Obviously this is not an American's Army type of game. [sIGPIC]http://i.imgur.com/YexElgV.jpg[/sIGPIC]
emg Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 (edited) Decent write up... In fairness though there was only the one single line about it being Russian-minded Absolutely, the tone of the article was very positive towards the devs. Reason I mentioned it: IMHO this one single line can be enough to make casual vpilots go "nah, don't want to try." I've been trying to convince people to try DCS in various forums, and people are often negative because they think DCS only/mostly has Russian planes. Anyway I'll get off my soapbox now. I took it to mean up until "recently" the only U.S. Aircraft you could fly was the A-10 and F-15. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
kontiuka Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 nice article. I don't think he got this quite right though ... "not only can online players fly realistic combat missions within the same environment in vastly different aircraft (think F-15 Eagle and AH-64 Apache)"
