SnowTiger Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Due to Multiplayer Connection Issues (Connection Interrupted) which has gone on for several months now, I Completely Uninstalled DCS World and All MODS. I downloaded all of the Installation Bin files and the EXE for DCS W yesterday so they are up-to-date. However, I keep getting the same installation error at around the same part of installation (same time) with regards to Sound Files etc. This happened twice. Both installation attempts were done with my Antivirus Disabled (AVG Pro). Prior to my 3rd Installation Attempt, I used CCleaner to remove all Registry Entries relating to DCS. I tried installing again and again got the same Error. I have tried Skipping Files but I did that about 100 times (files) literally and then Aborted the install. I'd really like to get this ALL resolved Today if possible. I have been frigging around with this thing for too long already now. PLEASE HELP !! PS> I suppose now that I cleaned the Registry of anything to do with DCS that I will now use up yet another Activation Key Count for each of my Mods ? If that is the case does that mean I also have to Acquire NEW Keys for each Mod first ? cichlidfan Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Did you verify the checksums for the files? SnowTiger Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Thanks for the reply. Since my post, I actually re-downloaded ALL of the Install Files and attempted installing again. Unfortunately, it wasn't until after I had downloaded all the files again that I received a program from DCS Tech Sup't that allowed me to check each of the files for corruption. As it turned out, the 1st .bin file was corrupt. So I downloaded that file again and was successful at reinstalling World and All but one Mod. I had BlackShark 1 from years ago and purchased the BS 2 Upgrade a couple years later. Unfortunately, that creates extra folders that are outside or (seemingly) independent of DCS World. I was under the impression that I should be able to install just BS 2 Upgrade "without" first having to install BS 1 but for some reason, the Mod Manager is insisting that I install BS 1 first. So I guess I will just have to find something else to fly for a while until there is another sale (after just missing one when I was prepared to invest more) so I can get the Full Version of BS 2 and not have to pay full price. So beside that, it appears everything is working correctly. I won't know if my original "Connection Interrupted" issue has been resolved until I have had a chance to update All my Mod "Input" files (which I was smart enough to save). In fact, I save ALL of my Saved Game files but I am going to copy those over to the new install "One at a Time" ... with hopes of not corrupting the new install !! AtaliaA1 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Seems the corrupted file is an indication that the "Error" is on the Providers side of things. Do You play other multi-player games that give you this problem? This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. SnowTiger Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 I can't say for sure but I'm confident that the corrupt file issue is on the Provider's end of things. But then who knows. My first download was from a German Server (not sure why I did it that way ?) and my second attempt was from USA HTTP. My third (single file only) was from USA FTP. This latter download was successful. So whether it's the provider's side or something between there and where I am ... who knows ? I'm very sure it isn't anything on my end, but then I haven't been having much success with DCS lately. I have and did play lots of other online stuff (eg: Battlefield 4) but not since flying again. I was flying allot on the DoW Servers without issue but after a small DCS Update, I and a few others were unable to connect to DoW or any other Server. That's where I have been stuck for several months now and only now decided that I have to completely uninstall and reinstall. Until now, I have been reluctant to do that ... for obvious reasons (i.e. giant pain in the ... bum).
