VTJS17_Fire Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Hi, I'm working on a larger mission for our squadron training and experimenting with the trigger zones. In the *.miz file I found the lines for the placed trigger zones. They are marked with an "x" ([x] IIRC) and the radius in kilometre. Is it possible to create a retangular or square trigger zone by scripting it in the *.miz file? Maybe via doing some [x*Y] stuff or so? That would help me to create a FAOR. kind regards, Fire Hardware: Intel i5 4670K | Zalman NPS9900MAX | GeIL 16GB @1333MHz | Asrock Z97 Pro4 | Sapphire Radeon R9 380X Nitro | Samsung SSDs 840 series 120GB & 250 GB | Samsung HD204UI 2TB | be quiet! chromium Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Check Mist, you can use groupInPolygon function (or something similar, I can't remember the exact name and I can't check it right now :( ) 1 Author of DSMC, mod to enable scenario persistency and save updated miz file Stable version & site: https://dsmcfordcs.wordpress.com/ Openbeta: https://github.com/Chromium18/DSMC The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.
mwd2 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 You can use MIST as chromium say place a unit (inf1WP) on the map and add WPs for the square mist.flagFunc.units_in_polygon{ units={'[blue][plane]'}, --unit names zone=mist.getGroupPoints('inf1WP'), flag=101, interval=20, } make Flag #101 true for the first aircraft, which enter the area - check every 20 sec. 1 Playing: DCS World Intel i7-13700KF, 64GB DDR5 @5600MHz, RTX 4080 ZOTAC Trinity, WIN 11 64Bit Prof. Squadron "Serious Uglies" / Discord-Server: https://discord.gg/2WccwBh Ghost0815
Wrecking Crew Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I think that the unit that defines the 'polygon' should not be a regular, active unit in the mission. I think it should be set to Late Activation and never activated. Maybe a one unit group... Disclaimer: I've not used this feature. mwd2 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Under standard condition, i wait 10 sec. and blow this unit up....to reduce the unit number on the map :music_whistling: Playing: DCS World Intel i7-13700KF, 64GB DDR5 @5600MHz, RTX 4080 ZOTAC Trinity, WIN 11 64Bit Prof. Squadron "Serious Uglies" / Discord-Server: https://discord.gg/2WccwBh Ghost0815
Grimes Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Considering that function gets the groups points directly from the mission file, its not even required to have the group activate. So you can set its probability of appearance to 0% and the function will still work. :) 1 The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Wrecking Crew Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Does the waypoint path have to intersect at some point to close the shape? Grimes Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 No, it automatically connects the last and the first point closing the object. You can check the PDF manual under mist.pointInPolygon, it has a couple of images to show how it works. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
