Just the AMRAAM? Heh.

 

BS offers a -lot- of stuff, actually, and although a lot of it is under the hood, it will be noticed. Yes, it's all about helicopters and ground vehicles etc for now, but there is a significant number of things that in one way or another transitions to the fixed-wing aircraft.

 

Overall, gameplay will be improved for one.

the C may have had a 'boost only' motor instead of boost-sustain which means higher peak-speed, but the range is reduced because you also begin to decelerate sooner (and drag is proportional, more or less, to velocity squared IIRC)

 

Hmm... I've been told an all-boost motor is better for maximum range, because the burn-inhibiting combiner used in a sustain-grain propellant also reduces its total impulse. I thought that the sustain motor increased Rtr, not Rpi.

Chizh, last time you told us about about advances in the helicopter AI you made in your project. Do you already have implemented new routines for the SAM/AAA AI you can tell us about ?

For SAMs are not any significant changes yet. They are learn separate dangerous target for range and firing missiles by pairs for increasing PK.

Each type of AAAs has pure projectile model with all physics forces, peculiar basic accuracy, lethality, limitations at target's angular velocity, range etc. At moving they are shooting less accuracy than at stop and with moving at cross-country too.

I would think that Your exxective max range is shortened for pure boost, but I -could- be wrong ... I suppose the only way to tell is a graph. Ie, you would maintain good terminal velocity longer with boost-sustain than pure boost.

Nobody knows whether terminal velocity is reached for the AIM-120 airframe though. The pure boost configuration could give the missile a much higher maximum speed for all we know.

 

Whatever. The physical performance of the 120C is unchanged from the B, and should be left at that. No need jumping into another OT discussion ;)

I'll bet you 10 to one that the terminal velocity is a "no", however. :)

They'll be ok! You'll see. Ground collisions between SK and D-Scythe are not yet modelled in LOMAC!
