BitMaster Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 PureEvil, I enjoy the game, believe me ! We dont know when EDGE comes out, I dont expect it in 2015 tbh. It is totally up to me what I compare and what not, as I overclock I am not interested in stock speeds unless to compare the difference from stock to max stable oc, which is alot in my case. Pointless is to wait for something and hold off with all things but dont have a date when things will happen. Currently, all that matters is what is installed, and this is not EDGE. I think it matters if you can OC a 980 to a point where it tickles the Titan-X benchmarks, sure, one can OC the Titan-X as well, but ⅓ gain in fps is more than peanuts, it's a different world. my 2 cents Bit Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
BitMaster Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Bit, At 4K with G-Sync working I was getting in the low 40's in the P-51 inside the pit and in the 60's outside. It was really difficult to tell as the script in the FPS display was so small I could barely make it out. When I went to the current resolution, primarily so I could read the script, it went up into the 60max inside the pit and in the high 90's + outside. I have a whole mess of mods running including all those you mentioned., plus running ALL the settings in game at max including civil traffic. I am quite happy with this setup as it really is smooth in spite of those times the FPS drops, and I attribute that to the G-Sync. Again, it is worlds better than my previous setup which was two GTX 780's in SLI on that UHD TV at 32". Can really see the distant a/c what with the pixel density and all. Easier to pick them up at distance. All this seems to match up to those that have been down this road before me so I guess that is the "bar" at the moment. Will have to wait and see what DCS 2.0 brings. Do you have your dynamic range values at hand. My Asus goes off Gsync ( despite the Gsync light stays red, indicating Gsync ON ) whenever I drop below 50fps as 50Hz is my lower DR value (50-144Hz). I could see some tearing and stutter if I press the card down to 30 fps with Ultimate settings in MoreVis. Mod and flying real low over a huge city while looking over thousands of roof tops, that brings the card into the low 30 for a second or two. So I am really eager to keep the settings such that I maintain a level of fps well inside the DR to keep Gsync alive :) Yes, it is somehow a bit easier to spot far away objects, even with my QHD compared to FullHD but still not even close to real life eyesight capabilities. Maybe 8 or 12k will bring that naturally in 2022 haha. Chief1942 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Bit, As far as I can tell, there is no light on the ACER monitor that indicates G-Sync on or off. I think the red light is applicable to the ROG Swift. That being the case I have not a clue how to determine the dynamic range you are referring to. JaBoG32_Prinzartus Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Why would you buy an even better card if another GTX970 is cheaper? (OK, I guess you can sell the GTX970). The only thing better right now is the GTX980. Have you got your Philips yet? I got the screen today and DCS @4K does not make any difference, fps-wise with my gtx-970! Well, Gpu runs @100% instead of 97-98%. I absolutely love it, so far. Just did my initial tests in single player. That value is always listed for any monitor you buy, it's the refresh rate range that you can choose from withing Windows. rajdary Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 (edited) @ Decibel dB, Boris, Terrorvogel and Prinzartus, Hi Philips 4k owners, was finally planning in buying the Philips monitor, just wanted to know if you were happy with it, also if you think it would work nicely at 4K with 2x780 Ti in SLI? And also i wanted to know the FOV that you use, do you simply use the same as in 1080 or do you actually have a better FOV?
