Hey guys,

i know what the cobra is ... i saw some videos ...

but in the key bindings this key named "ASC Direct Control (Cobra)"

ok ... i will get direct control ?

no ...

if i use this key not as for a cobra manouever , i get sudden death ...

the Su-27 will quickly turn on back ... :joystick:

i have got black out and will crash into terrain ...

this is the most dangerous key i ever found ...

ok ... if i cut off my ASC in my BMW i will never die :music_whistling:

i mean the key is not useabe ... isn't it?

Cap

too much ...

Well, the Cobra key is not the Cobra key. :o)

It disables the stabilization so you can perform the cobra maneuver. But you still have to know very exactly what you are doing when you want to perform that maneuvre. Use it at the wrong time during flight and ... yes, I made that experience as well, it is more like an "suicide key".

Btw, try (or better NOT!) to disable your ASC while going fast through a wet and slippery curve and see, if your BMW will let you die or not! ;o)

ok ... the problem was:

if i use the key in level flight the trim was gone ...

when i use the key and i give pos. pitch all was okay ...

but in this case it is like my BMW without ASC :) very direct ....

i will give this key a binding for never use without brain :)

Edit said ... i disabled this function :)

Desperate times call for desperate measures, pulling high AoA at the right moment can save your virtual life or even open up a firing solution. Use the switch, love it, learn it.

This might help:

Oh dear, someone found the "S" Key of Doom :)

The S key is not a Kobra key, it disables the flight control system giving you direct control input. Under these conditions the aircraft becomes very unstable in pitch and in order to avoid the usually unrecoverable inverted departure condition very precise and smooth control inputs are necessary.

The counter point is that with the FCS disabled it's possible to massively exceed the normal angle of attack limit imposed by the flight computer, thus giving you the possibility of bringing your nose around for a snap missile or cannon shot. The large disadvantage to doing this is that in a lateral turning engagement using huge AOA values will also cost you huge amounts of energy and airspeed.

If you're new to flying the Su-27 I'd heavily recommend avoiding turning off the FCS under any circumstances.
