derelor Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 (edited) Hi all! I think there's a small texture error in the Bf 109 K-4 cockpit. See attached image from figure 72 (page 83) of the English flight manual. I think the "Auf" label on the cover should be named "Aus". "Ein" probably stands for "Eingefahren" (retracted) and "Aus" for "Ausgefahren" (extended). "Auf" (Up) does not make any sense to me here. What do you think? Does anyone have a real cockpit picture of that specific part? Thanks in advance for your help! Edited April 5, 2015 by derelor 1338 - beyond leet ED Forum rules EN|DE|RU
derelor Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 (edited) Take a look at this. Looks like "Aus" is correct (green rectangle) - reported as ticket #30074. It seems there are more labels missing in the DCS cockpit (orange lines in the image), but I can't read them. Anyone? Edited April 5, 2015 by derelor 1338 - beyond leet ED Forum rules EN|DE|RU
derelor Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Here's what I came up with regarding the missing labels on the landing gear indicator. We need better references... 1338 - beyond leet ED Forum rules EN|DE|RU
MFG62 Joker Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 (edited) Auf seems indeed to be wrong. I didn't find a picture as reference but the original Flugzeughandbuch Werkschrift 2109 vom November 1944, Teil 2 Fahrwerk describes on page 2-11 Druckknopfschalter and Merkleuchten for Fahrwerk "Aus". Therefore I would say AuF is a Typo. Edited April 6, 2015 by I./ZG15_FALKE
9.JG27 DavidRed Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 yeah, AUF doesnt make much sense, except maybe it could be understood as "Offen" although that doesnt make much sense either....AUS is probably correct, and its texture bug/typo.

It looks like they say 1E190 and 1E191 (or 1E192 - I can't read it). They are the so-called "Stromkreiskennzeichen" (circuit identifier) for the red and green lights: 23 1 Merkleuchte rot für Fahrwerksanzeige Fl. 32529-1 Fl. 32526 1E191 24 2 Merkleuchte grün für Fahrwerksanzeige Fl. 32529-2 Fl. 32526 1E190, 1E192 (r, l) See http://www.deutscheluftwaffe.de/Flugzeuge/Jeager/Me109K/Cockpit/cockpit.htm#Fl (thanks EagleEye) 1338 - beyond leet ED Forum rules EN|DE|RU
Kodoss Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 First of all it should be written as "Aus"! Second: the electrical circuits are seperated by usage in german aircraft with a simple alphabetic code. The position within the circuit is given by a number. E = Elektrische Antriebe und Überwachung für Flug- und Triebwerk (electrical devices and control for airframe and engine) from "Bf 109 K-4 Handbook Teil 9B-1" Page 8 I hope this helps.

derelor Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Thank you guys for your help so far. The "Auf" (-> "Aus") typo from post #1 is now fixed internally :) Now I'm not sure what to report about the missing landing gear position indicator labels (posts #2 and #3). I don't want to report something wrong. I'm fairly certain about the following labels: - Ein - Fahrwerk - Aus Links - Aus Rechts But I'm not sure about those two because of contradicting information: 1. Pic from post #6: Left: 1E190 Right: 1E192 2. Manual (Bf 109 K-4 Handbook Teil 9B-1 Page 8 ) excerpt from post #11: Left: 1E192 Right: 1E190 Bei vollständig ausgefahrendem Fahrwerk sprechen die Schauzeichen "Aus" 1E190 für rechtes Fahrgestell bzw. 1E192 für linkes Fahrgestell an. Bei vollständig eingefahrenem Fahrwerk spricht das Schauzeichen "Ein" 1E191 an ... 3. Pic from post #12: Left: 1E111 Right: 1E110 Does anyone know which labels are correct? 1338 - beyond leet ED Forum rules EN|DE|RU
