Reyer Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 (edited) Hello. I have a problem with lua scripts. I just wanted to use G940Leds program with Frostregen's Huey script which i should put to the $HOME\SavedGames\DCS\Scripts but there is no such directory. I have just empty \SavedGames folder with literally nothing inside. At first i had Steam version of DCS and tried everything to make that mod to work. I created those missing folders, i've put export.lua from Frostregen's zip file there and replaced original export.lua from SteamApps\common\DCSWorld\Scripts with modified one, created "config" folder in Uh-1H folder and copied export.lua there too but script didn't worked anyway. Then i uninstalled it from steam and downloaded non-steam version of DCS with Huey module. After installation i found that the problem still occurs and game still is not seeing those lua scripts placed by me almost everywhere. What should i do? Where to put that export.lua? (I'm using Windows 7N 64bit.) Edited May 3, 2015 by Reyer
Rongor Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 if the whole folder content is missing, we would have to ask where all your DCS missions and profiles and other essential stuff are stored instead. They have to be somewhere, otherwise you would have a hard time starting DCS up. Find that location and then you will be able to pursue your plan. Did you navigate to the right windows user profile? Is there anything weird about administrator rights on your PC? Solve these questions and everything will be fine. You could also simply search your hard drive for the export.lua file. Took me less then one second to receive the location. 1
Svend_Dellepude Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 You have to run DCS once before the folder is created. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Win10 64, Asus Maximus VIII Formula, i5 6600K, Geforce 980 GTX Ti, 32 GB Ram, Samsung EVO SSD.
Reyer Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 I have only one user on my pc, with all administrator privileges. Beside of that places that i tried before, windows found export.lua files only in the "recently used" folders that leads me to those that i already tried. While i was writing this answer, accidentally i found, thanks to your suggestion about missions, correct folder of DCS. Because of my Windows language, my SavedGames folder is called a bit differently (with other meaning) and thanks to some other game who presumably created catalog called exactly "SavedGames" i was mislead to think that this was the correct one :/ Thanks for suggestions. Now everything works as it should.
