SNAFU Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 (edited) For my personal use I made a kind of checklist for the MiG-21Bis emergency procedures. Maybe someone else might find it useful too, so I uploaded it here below. Feedback and corrections welcome. PS: 08/06/15 I added a small mission for 4 clients in MiG-21Bis to see practice handling with battle damage more easily. In this mission you have an airstart at 45k ft and you can trigger an explosion by the comms/radio menu F10->trigger explosion.MiG21Bis Emergency Rev0.pdfTraining Modul F6 Emergency Procedures.miz Edited June 8, 2015 by SNAFU 2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Unsere Facebook-Seite
JorgeIII Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 (edited) Thanks Snafu. Good one. This brings to mind that most of the possible failures are not simulated in the module. Do we have other failures than engine flame out ( because of negative G, overspeed and hits) and direct damage from impact (landing gear, etc.) simulated? Edited May 7, 2015 by JorgeIII AKA TANGO-117. DCS Modules: most of them, proficiency: only a few at a time. The most crucial aspect of a simulator is its realistic physics and precise aerodynamics, accurately reflecting all flight conditions.

SNAFU Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 Thanks Snafu. Good one. This brings to mind that most of the possible failures are not simulated in the module. Do we have other failures than engine flame out ( because of negative G, overspeed and hits) and direct damage from impact (landing gear, etc.) simulated? So far I only had the chance to test a few failures. Since I usually fly in MP environment on our squad server, I have no random failures at all (besides mismanagement by myself as flame out due to overspeed, empty dispenser tank, pitot tube freezing, running out of pneumitc pressure). I am planning to go through the checklist, trying to verify the procedure, but that is not completely possible, I guess. Yesterday I checked dependency of system on functioning inverters 1 and 2 and so far I could not discover anything missing, besides that it takes a long time to drain the battery and hydraulic pressure. What caught my attention is that the AFCS and autopilot is still working flawless with frozen pitot tubes (main and secondary). I guess modern airliners can learn a thing or two from the design? :music_whistling: But I might be wrong... ... I am still testing and will report back my experience, but that will take a while... coldViPer Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Yesterday I checked dependency of system on functioning inverters 1 and 2 and so far I could not discover anything missing I also tested and can only say that switching inverter 1 off (DC) you can see the oil pressure gauge sets to zero :) Asus Prime X570-P * Ryzen 5800X3D + Scythe Fuma cooler * RTX 4080 Super * Corsair 64GB DDR4 3600MHz * Samsung 980 pro 2Tb + 1Tb nvme * Samsung 850 EVO 512Gb SSD * Corsair RM850x V2/2018 * HP Reverb G2 * CH Fighterstick/Pedals/Throttle * Win11 Pro
SNAFU Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 Yes, this also happens with inverter #2 switched off, if I remember correctly from my short tests yesterday. But the cone position indicator didn´t move, as it should per manual. But I didn´t test really long and it might just start later on? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Unsere Facebook-Seite

IvanTehFennec Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 My personal checklist: If: Problem with engine, and you're not already on the ground Do: EJECT. Anything else: Go out swinging.
zaelu Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I died quite a few times on 104th dedicated trying to restart the engine or checking the warning lights only to explode from damage or a second AIM120. Now... more often after a bang and sound of engine spooling down I simply eject. :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
Nevyn Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Mmmm, I will give this a go, thanks OP, I like emergencies, they are fun, never say die, unless you dead obviously.
