Dear BST,

Seems that you can exceed all temperature limits (EGT, engine oil temp, gearbox oil temp) indefinitely without any failures whatsoever resulting. Any idea as regards to when this omission would/could be fixed? Thanks!

I agree. I think BST will look again when ED implements multicrew, as I think the entire code might change, and thus the limitations revisited. Last night I was reading Chickenhawk, somehow Bob's ship was modified illegally by the crew chief to perhaps carry extra compared to other ships in his company. Maybe redlines are our temporary friends?

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Well, the Mi-8 APU got an overheat/cooling model a while ago, can't remember which patch brought it but AFAIK it's there already. So I'd guess this functionality will of course be implemented for the whole product line in due time, no? But it would be nice to hear something official regardless - been a looong while since the devs last commented on anything. EB1, you still around m8?

Is english even BST's primary language? It's hard to post updates constantly in a different language.

Their last post on the subject was a few months ago, and is sticked in the forum. It even mentions EGTS...

The DCS unofficial roadmap also has some interesting tidbits on the UH-1, and the MI-8, that suggest a possible 2.0 in the works.

Is this the post you were talking about Socket?

The BST forum sticky is a copy-paste of the original above. It is dated 10-06-2014 04:29 AM which makes it roughly 8 months old - and the author, EvilBivol-1, is AFAIK both affiliated with BST and a native English speaker. So I'd actually make so bold as to say that it has indeed been a while by now ;)

Ehm, sorry but not having any particular fun here one way or the other actually, spanking dead carcasses or not. Sorry if I offended your finer sensibilities by asking though.

Sleep tight, now.

There was a thread on this subject a while ago. It addressed the fact that there are no engine limitations modeled, including EGT and that we wanted it. As you know, you can fly this Huey as hard as you want and there are no repercussions. It was also brought up that the torque vs egt ratio seemed off as well. If you add rockets and guns or any combination of weapons you are constantly having to fly in the yellow or red on egt. It's never been addressed and it's difficult for me to understand why.

What a Necro... :shocking:

Anyways, the Huey is indeed lacking promised updates, especially the engine limitations you mentioned. It was on Belsimteks roadmap in October 2015, which was 1.5 years ago!

- UH-1H: Update engine model related to temperatures and power output

- UH-1H: Add sustained overheating effects

Still waiting for that (and multicrew, which is still beeing advertised on the official product page!!)... mad.gif

I really hope they at least get in to the Huey limitations. Not having limitations vs having them really changes how it's flown.
