Hi all,

I hope that this isn't going to get people 'up in arms' but does anyone have a skin I could use to add the swastika to the tail of the plane?

I am by no means a Nazi or affiliated in any way to right wing extremists etc etc, but I would love to see this (and the 109k) in its original shape form and look.

It's actually quite easy for the Bf109

First of all find a plane that has the swastika and copy the file .. usually it's bf-109k-4_cross.dds for the 109 .. the 190 seems to be actually on one of the main templates.

Paste that file into the root of the Skin folder of the plane you wish to add a swastika to and make sure the following line in the description.lua (for the skin you're adding the swastika to) is as follows ...

{"Bf-109K-4_KIL_CROSS", DECAL ,"bf-109k-4_cross",false};

That should be it! Cheers :)

P.S. Make sure you make a copy of the skin folder for the skin you're editing before you start messing around with the skin ... just a precaution.

THE EDIT - PPS .. Um .. I guess this isn't much help for the Dora, I've just checked and all of the Dora's appear to have the swastika as part of a major template ... sorry.

"A true 'sandbox flight sim' requires hi-fidelity flyable non-combat utility/support aircraft."

Wishlist Terrains - Bigger maps

Wishlist Modules - A variety of utility aircraft to better reflect the support role. E.g. Flying the Hornet ... big yawn ... flying a Caribou on a beer run to Singapore? Count me in. Extracting a Recon Patrol from a hastily prepared landing strip at a random 6 figure grid reference? Now yer talking!

Don't worry about explaining yourself or worrying about people getting angry. I think the general consensus on this board has been that people should have the option of having or not having it.

For the Dora I think you'll just have to do a cut and paste job, not ideal unfortunately. Either through pulling it off another template or doing a google image search for any good quality ones that have a transparency so that all you paste in is the symbol and not a square background. Not ideal again since you'll have to adjust it (and potentially visiting sites you don't want to in the search).

To bottomless perdition, there to dwell; In adamantine chains and penal fire"

Im such a noob when it comes to messing with files and such. I always reckon im going to screw something up/ Im sure all your descriptions of how to this means a lot to the initiated but im afraid im not one of them.

Ive D/L'd a skin for the 190 but I think ill only be able to see it if I make a mission and choose the plane. Id love to be able to see them both (190 and 109) when im practising out of a personally set up mission (I cant do that either)

I am learning slowly....but very slowly it seems. You boys are just too clever lol.

This is a good tutorial for using the ME (Mission Editor) with more to come shortly, and should get you on your way.

It takes a long time to learn DCS, it goes off in so many directions. I've been into DCS for 5 or 6 years now, and I do a LOT of reading (mainly on helli's)

From what I have read from your posts, you are doing alright, compared to me when I first started. It will come eventually with determination.
