I managed to find myself this gem of a book available online talking about the F-14 and its variants and I also learned that Janes has a whole series of this "behind the controls" line of books for MIG-29, F/A-18, F-117, etc

I read the whole thing for the MIG-29, I found it fascinating... Haven't read the one for F-14 yet but if the one I read about the MIG-29 is any indication as to what to expect for the F-14 it should be a good read. I hope the guys over at Leatherneck can find this material useful for their simulation of the F-14, I like how it talks about its strengths and weaknesses, etc.

I read the one for the MIG-29 online but I can't find one of the F-14 online anywhere, guess you have to purchase the book.

There's some good info in there but realize the book was written when there was a plan to integrate F-14B and F-14D into one squadron, instead of F-14Bs on the East Coast and F-14Ds on the West Coast. Logistics prevented them from combining like is written in the book.
