Side note:

They were in Arizona practicing several weeks ago and the guy flying the F-86 landed gear up and skated down the runway causing a lot of damage, but that lucky bastard walked away from it!

He was recently cited (he was/is a civilian contractor) by the FAA.

Combat Command's reprimands, if any were not made public.

is this ok?

damn, although these pictures are great shots- the quality could be better or higher res. Also, i think the picture ratio is wrong. Especially the pic with the F-22, it looks like "squished" together.

Nice pics, LOC. Don't forget though, ACC includes aircraft which were once in SAC as well. ;) I love the F-86 and the P-51 (have a Mustang under my care). Pisser about the gear-up landing. NEODARK, you'd be amazed at how often this type of thing is just caused by the pilot forgetting to put his gear down. He got out better than Jack Rosamond did though. About 10 years ago, he died in his F-86 when he started a loop at an airshow, and started it a little too low. He augered in pretty hard. RIP Jack.:(
