No audio in sim after upgrade

My last computer build was 10 years ago. Finally bought new components and built myself a new one centered on an Asus Z97 Pro MoBo. New CPU, GPU, memory, PSU--decided to use the MoBo's onboard Realtek ALC1150 audio rather than a discreet audio card. DCSW is on a separate HD and, so, I did not uninstall it.

After reinstalling Win7 Pro, I was anxious to see what DCSW looked like. Launched the sim and everything looks great except--no audio.

Checked the audio settings under Options and everything was turned on. Also tried 1) the DCS repair option. It downloaded and installed DX drivers. No change. 2) Tried installing DX9 on my own. No change. 3) Installed the latest audio drivers for the MoBo. No change.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get audio back? At this point the next step seems to be reinstalling DCSW.

EDIT:

Solved but I don't actually know what the solution was. I installed P3D and now I have audio in DCSW as well. I'm assuming it was a driver issue of some sort but, because of how it was "fixed" I can't specify the "what".
