suntrace1 Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 I have a hunch that none of you read this article, that has very legitimate claims, how F-22 can very well be the biggest strategical mistake for USAF: http://www.aviapedia.com/news/f-22-is-a-big-mistake-20060522 Price of 335$ milion for a plane, new technology not proven in combat, high fidelity machines that need a lot of high-skilled maintanence personel & highly trained pilots - it really sounds to me like Me-262 in WW2. History and present has proven that small high-tech force in the long run can't compete with rugged and cheap weapons that can be produced in greater numbers. I don't want to start another ''flame war'', but an honest disgussion if these claims are valid, and if so, how much can mistake like this hurt US's role in geo-startegical arena. And please, do read the article. 1
Pilotasso Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 I saw this article before and its utter BS, do you want me even bother to quote the utter ignorant sentences? .
Shaman Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Just don't start another flame war, ok? :poster_dont: I think we have had enough of these threads. They have nothing to do with LockOn and only create tensions and misunderstandings within a really nice imho flightsim community. 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer

britgliderpilot Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 The "experts" aren't. Now will someone just lock this thread, before it turns into something else? :P On a side-note - the Fighter Mafia are now getting a touch too old. These gentlemen are the same ones that said the F-16 didn't need a radar . . . . . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
Dmut Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 closed. sorry. it's another one pointless chit-chat thread based on gossips and fairy-tales. "There are five dangerous faults which may affect a general: recklessness, which leads to destruction; cowardice, which leads to capture; a hasty temper, which can be provoked by insults; a delicacy of honor which is sensitive to shame; over-solicitude for his men, which exposes him to worry and trouble."
