Sawamura Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 My additional notes for some specifics. Apply a curve to your pitch so you have a smoother pull and push at higher speeds. Apply a curve and dead-zone(max 5) to your roll to ensure you may not roll during vertical maneuvering. When you pull, you also tend to roll a tiny bit. Apply a curve and dead-zone(max 5) to your rudder to ensure you won't move left and right continuously while in formation. Do not apply a curve to your throttle. Before setting your trim for formation flying, get to know the aircraft very well in terms of what your aircraft does on specific speeds. Set your trim before you join the formation and focus on a fixed point on the lead aircraft once you are on your designated position.
MrSloanes Posted September 16, 2015 Author Posted September 16, 2015 Thanks for the addition. As I said in the videos I'm far from a pro but if only 1 person finds anything in the video useful I'm happy with that :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] YouTube Channel
kontiuka Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Thanks for the videos. :) Just a couple of comments. Your voice should be a little louder. I found it a little hard to follow especially with the background music. Also, you should be able to formation fly with any friendly AI plane. Not just a tanker. For example, I've done it several times with an AI F-86. Cheers.
MrSloanes Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 Yeah I know I had some mic issues. These are now sorted for future videos. As far as my testing went the only planes that let you fly close to them when controlled by AI was the tankers. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] YouTube Channel
grunf Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Perhaps you could redo the videos without the background music, which is sometimes as loud as your voice. Besides that, your videos are very good and helpful. Keep them coming!
