Hi, I am in the process of putting together list of components together to build a new rig including a monitor, as I am coming from an iMac.

The rig will be for DCS World and a few other games mainly as I am keeping the Mac for general computing stuff.

The monitor is in my price range and size, but not sure if there is better out there for the price or if anybody here uses the model.

This is my parts list so far, hopefully future proof.

What I can say is, that Gsync works great and it has improved my gameplay better than "just more fps".

If you run Nvidia, you may check for Gsync, if u run AMD you might check for a FreeSync Monitor.

Read some reviews about that before you go out and buy a new monitor without that technique. It really makes a difference in smoothness of gameplay.

I also look at this monitor, but be aware for some flickering problems. Google it or search in youtube.

Thanks BitMaster, I was completely unaware of this tech. I have researched a little on g-sync and all I have read has been extremely good to awesome.

This is the way I will be going, another future proof piece of tech. The only difficulty at the moment is finding a monitor enabled with g-sync that is big enough and in my price range.

Also I wasn't interested in going too 4K in anything under 40" but can be persuaded now since reading you can swap around with resoullutions.

I'm really glad I posted here about the BenQ, which is now in the bin, thanks again.

Currently, the selection of good (e.g. non-TN panels and non-1080p on 27+" screens) and fast screens (more than standard 60 Hz) with that tech seems to be limited to 27" 16:9 and 34" 21:9 1440p monitors.

Check out Asus MG279Q (27" AUO AHVA with FreeSync and 144 Hz), upcoming PG279Q (same panel, but with G-Sync), Acer XB270HUbprz (same panel, G-Sync), Acer XR341CK (34" 21:9 wide, IPS with 75 Hz and FreeSync), upcoming Acer X34 (same panel, but with G-Sync and up to 100 Hz) and Asus PG348Q (same as last one).

I presume the 34" ones are out of your price range and check on the Internet (hardforum is a good place to start) about some QC issues with those 27" and 34" G-Sync Acers.

i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.
