razorbill Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Hi, Watching "Ironhands!" brilliant tutorials has learnt me loads, especially piloting the A-10, trouble is, in one of his tutorials as he approaches the target ( designated by the Diamond ) he snaps the pipper onto the target whilst saying something about Ground Stabilizing, and ( I think ) he says to press TAB I've done this bit the sight Pipper does nothing! can you please explain to me exactly how to lock the target? I've yet to actually hit something! and I know that an Ammo-Dump puts on a hell of a show when hit"Thanks:doh:

Ironhand Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 ...in one of his tutorials as he approaches the target ( designated by the Diamond ) he snaps the pipper onto the target whilst saying something about Ground Stabilizing, and ( I think ) he says to press TAB I've done this bit the sight Pipper does nothing!... Yes, with the default keyboard mapping, TAB ground stabilizes the pipper. Then slew (using ; . , / ) the pipper close to the target as viewed on the TV Monitor. When the system is able to differentiate the target object from the background (based on contrast) the target designator will snap to and lock the target. There's a small + displayed in the TVM somewhere near the TVM center--exactly where depends on how far off target center (and in which direction) the Maverick's nose is pointing. This cross flashes when you are within range to launch. SuperKungFu Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 ??? razor, you have the manual in your doc folder. You can also download it from lockon.ru. I printed the manual out, or you can buy it from the lockon site (unless you don't mind reading it from the computer) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
